Questions & Answers

How does this fit in with a WCFB?

This part is only used on Edelbrock vehicles

Are the intake manifold plates arranged in any particular order?

Placing the plates alternately between metallic and insulating materials was my method. I have found this to work well for keeping the carb cooler. Vapor lock is no longer an issue. It may be possible to find other methods of installation that work just as well or better, but this one worked well A. B.

Do you know whether the kit 3710 will fit the carter AF-B carburetors?

Thank you for contacting us. The carburetor heat shield fits Holley (excluding). Four thousand five hundred - and Carter Air Force Base A carburetor with 4 barrels is 1/2" thick and 4 barrels.

A direct fit is not possible under an Edelbrock 1405, but this is definitely your best option You have the option of
4/5

It is a very nice heat shield (there is no chance that it will melt like those suppy sandwiches) The type of shields that CoolCarb sells. It would be better to just get the Holley plate if you're running that carb, though it is thinner than the Mr. Gasket offering. However, the 3710 will also fit under a Carter AFB / Edelbrock 1405 This is the case with mine, for example I bought it for use in a Chrysler LA 360 (running a Mopar twin-boost system) With the Edelbrock, you have a quad plane, M1 intake topped off with Magnum compatible head bolts. As I recall, all I had to do was clean the electric choke clearance spot to clear the carburetor. As well, I remember that I had to cut a reverse crescent into the left rear of the plate to clear the intake vacuum tee, but that's the last I remember it. Yes, this is true The intake and motor on this car are specific. In addition, it complements the engine bay very well and looks super clean (and it hides the "Mopar M1" intake casting marks) Since I have painted the intake to match my engine, it is an added benefit). My review will be updated with pictures at some point.

Although it makes an awful whistle noise in my application, it works just fine
4/5

Because the plate/gasket combination that is used for installation, this is a good replacement for a wood spacer, but when I installed it, it made a horrible whistle noise. It was said that I would use the shield anyway, and thus I discarded the plate and gasket, and installed the wood spacer back in to make sure the noises were reduced. The shield itself is effective it had cooled down my carb significantly. any measurements to share, but going from not being able to touch the carb to being able to do so without burning myself brought the burn rate down significantly. Varpor lock or boil over are no longer an issue for me.
