Dorman 800-086 Fuel Line Quick Connector That Adapts 3/8 in. Steel to 3/8 in. Nylon Tubing, 2 Pack

On my 2002 Ford Ranger, I had to replace the fitting on the supply line that came out of the fuel sender. A line with an OD of 0 has no external diameter. The package contained a fitting size of 3/8 and I was not able to determine whether or not I needed that size. . . As a result, I asked for advice from Amazon users, and I appreciate their efforts to assist. A 3/8 fitting certainly looked like it was intended to tie into a 3/8 OD nylon line. . . There is no evidence that this is true. As soon as I received the fitting (800-) (086) I immediately noticed that the barb end was too large. It would not fit on the tube. As a result, I ended up needing a fitting designed for 5/16 tubing. The Dorman 800-series There was no room for error. It was tight. There is a jig that can be purchased that will allow you to install the metal connector in an exact fit, then some small pieces of fuel line since the polypropylene prop line is very difficult to work with, and finally some clamps to secure the fuel line. I like it a lot.

During the conversion to a new fuel filter system, the unit worked perfectly. As far as durability is concerned, we'll see how long the plastic will last.

The connectors I'm using are nice. The ones I used are listed below. The car comes with better ones than the ones that came with it. This motor uses exactly the same connectors as the GM connectors on the 3800 V6 engine. It will work perfectly on the engine. As I watch, I can tell if they hold up well. I have been satisfied with the service and its use so far. A repair tech recommended Dorman to me.

I had a small fuel leak on top of the engine where this connector is located. My leak was stopped with this, and it fit nicely.
