Flows through the filter but does not fit

This was purchased for a While the thread and nut diameters are accurate and functional, a fuel petcock cannot be mounted with a filter in place. In order for the dipstick to fit in the tank, I had to slide the filter off. The petcock does not have any markings for "off" "run" or "res" it has only.

It fitted my 83 Honda 185S perfectly the markings on the on, off, and reserve were not ideal, but overall it works just fine and doesn't leak.

This is not OEM, as far as I am concerned. In order to make sure it would not be a lemon right out of the gate, I torqued down the screws and exercised. In the event that it fails, I will follow up.
