There is a catch although this float is a great replica of the original, it's not nearly as sturdy as the original. Initially, the boat seemed to operate fine after an initial replacement. However, some adjustments later, the boat never fired up again. The engine began running rich after a few days and black smoke began to rise. A few more adjustments were made and the results remained the same. There were some bubbles on the surface and some spots that were marred by wear. As soon as the area was applied with a little pressure, Upon noticing that the bubbled places were rubbing off and debris was entering my gas tank, I took action. Using this instead of ethanol is a great idea if you're running ethanol free. As the float for Sierra Brass is sold out, I had no choice but to order one. The Sierra products I have ordered to rebuild my '89 5 are all excellent. I have had no issues with any Mercruiser. There are plenty of warnings stating it will be eaten by ethanol, so I made a mistake. For a couple months, I was considering relying on this momentum to complete the season. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast it happened. More than once, but only once on the water.
There is a Sierra 18-foot tall mountain in California A replacement float for the Mercarb 7202 is a good part.
I wanted to rebuild my carb so I ordered a float since most carb rebuild kits do not come with a The pros are Detailed instruction and all tools needed to adjust the carbuetor* Button measuring device* C Mini-obtrusive* D The carbuetor needs some attention to become more accurate. Changing the size of the float simply requires using the toe of the float (we're talking millimeters here, and precision is key)
The stock version has a small plastic mark on the side that can be used to adjust the size. The summary is All in all, I was able to adjust my carb correctly the first time and it worked as intended. The product would be a great recommendation to anyone, but just about everyone will be baffled by the toe problem. There is a confusion with the toes, so I have deducted one star.
In the case of this float replacement, it is very similar to the original one in my mercarb 2 barrel, but there are a couple of significant differences. The first thing that others have pointed out is that there is no toe indentation. As a second complaint, the float setting had no idea what it was supposed to be. Even after bending the tabs so much, it seemed like I would not be able to The float should come with a list of the carbs it fits so that I can determine what specs to use This float does not come with instructions or specs.
I'd avoid this junk. No adjustment markings are on this float and it is not designed the same way the original equipment (OE) float is. While the design is close to the OE float, it is off enough that there are concerns about the float hanging up on internal parts due to tight clearances that do not exist with the aftermarket.
I ran it the first time and it looked great, but the next time I went out in my boat, nothing was coming out of it, and the floating device had a bad spot in it and was sinking.
It should be noted that this float does not have adjustment markings, nor does Sierra provide instructions for measuring. By measuring to the "toe" the level of the OEM float differed from the level of the toe on an OEM float. Replacing your float with one that is not properly adjusted may even end up causing more harm than good.
There are no markings on it to refer to the float height, even though it is a direct replacement. A molded dot is visible on the stock one as a With this garbage, all you can do is guess.
The one in your carb may be saturated with fuel, resulting in a change in performance. If you've got your carb open, remove it and replace it. It's incredibly simple to do. I would like to point out that Measurement should NOT be taken along the seam line on the side of the garment. You should measure to the toe of the float, the point where it turns vertical from an angled position.
