The discharge nozzle gaskets should be metal rather than rubber or cork, are they supposed to be? Additionally, is there supposed to be flat upper gasket forms once the gaskets are tightened?

There is nothing abnormal about a metal gasket. Once the screw is tightened, it will conform to the shape of the screwhead.

There is a straight discharge nozzle on the 137 accelerator pump. I used it on a Truckavenger 470 cfm without any problem. My CJ-I had a dead spot off idle, but this helped get rid of it There were 7 258 in 6.
