Aside from that, I thought it was a good idea to have the insect screen. I just ordered it, it should be delivered today, but now I see in the product features that it is not suitable for use in clothes dryers. Certainly, it's not my fault that I failed to read carefully the Embarrassing for Amazon to have a search function that places "NOT. " at the end. The term "clothes dryer vent" belongs in the same group.
You have to read the full review for details (read it here). Little critters can easily access the basement from the deck due to the cap being at deck level. As others have noted, several critters can still get through the holes in this cover since it has a wire mesh insert. Less good news is that the holes are only 1/4" square, so there are some critters who may still get through. Getting back to the good news - I hoped that this louver would be a removable insert and it is! It gets even better - there is room for a screen between the louvers and back plate! In any case, I still managed to snap the louvers back into place without any problems after inserting two additional layers of metal mesh at different angles. A 4 star rating is due to the fact that adding engineering would improve the product. Here is a picture of the finished modifications that I will attempt to upload.
It seems as if the vents will provide plenty of air flow, and I like the way they look. I used a hole saw to cut holes in the gable of my shed, then inserted a vent, drilled holes for the screws, removed the vent, applied caulk to the tubular portion, then inserted back into the hole, and screwed it in. On the inside of the shed, I caulked around the vent as well. You should do your own research, but these were the best value that I found for what I was looking for, compared to companies like WalMart and Target.
There are however errors in the image and description on Amazon. The dimensions Dimensions of outside vent after installation are 6 by 6 inches, round vent pipe diameter is 4", and pipe outside dimension is 4 by 4.
Before I found this gem, I browsed the web for quite some time. On the side of the house, the smallest footprint possible and the profile face are both required). There is an aluminum drip edge flashing along the upper quarter inch of the 25" width. It is visible. It looked like a critter I will add another fine mesh screen to keep smaller flying insects from nesting inside the 4" vent tube because the screen is a nice feature (heavy duty wire screen). Apparently they forgot to include the mounting hardware (it requires 4 screws, one at each corner), so I'll get a few stainless steel screws so I can If the bees or wasps decide to build a nest inside the louvers, I am used to it, and there is very little one can do about it other than periodically cleaning them out. I am very satisfied with the way the unit looks, as well as the functionality. I found exactly what I was looking for, as long as it's durable enough to stand up to the elements. It will take time to determine whether it has yellowed, warped, or has become The price is right, so when the time comes, I will just buy another.
I needed to replace my outside air vent under the soffit in my bathroom. Several friends of mine had purchased a competing product, via Amazon, for half the price. However, he was not impressed with the plastic due to it being so After purchasing the premium item, he was pleased with it. I think that he made a better choice this time around. The plastic is thicker and ridged than what he had previously acquired. You're getting a lot of value for your money for just over $9. The replacement of the type of outdoor vent I mentioned is highly recommended if you wish to have an application like the one Vents with louvers that move do a much better job of keeping the air flowing than dryer vents without louvers. What is the frequency at which you would have to take the screen off if the vent was used to vent the dryer. That would be way too much trouble, in my opinion.
It fits perfectly and is of high quality. I am so glad I returned the vent cover I had from Home Depot and replaced it with this one instead. One of the main advantages of most competing products is that The cylinder itself has a one-way flow feature that blocks airflow from outside to inside. What if you would like to have inward airflow like for a fireplace's combustion air? With this one, you can go both ways. Furthermore, the way this worked was that it fit perfectly and tightly into the two recessed holes in my brick wall as well as the metal vent. Another type of vent cover can be installed when the home is being built. A set of those is attached to the vent's outside. I found that the round cylindrical cover worked by snapping out, then snapping back into place. I could not quite put it in by hand, but I was able to snap out and snap back in the louvered cover. As a result, I was able to carefully tap the flat surface underneath with a mallet and a flat piece of wood to remove the louvers. The vent cover is now snugly seated against the brick wall, and it will not be able to be pulled away by the forces of nature.
