Questions & Answers

Is it necessary for me to purchase the gasket that is recommended?

Depending on the state of the original gasket, I would simply purchase a new one to ensure that it fits snugly. It would be a nightmare to dismantle everything for the sake of a $5. Gasket number 00.

The welds were of poor quality and had a tendency to leak
3/5

To begin with, it was easy to install and seemed to fit perfectly on the surface. The problems began to appear after the installation and I started the car. There are three weld joints that are leaking. There were only pinholes, so I had to remove it and re-attach it. Weld any leaks you may have. I reinstalled it and discovered that the resonator side gasket was not seating properly due to the pipe's flaring, which prevented a proper fit. On the muffler side, the weld flanges were also slightly out of alignment, and neither gasket was properly sealed. To fix all of those issues, I went back to the auto parts store and bought a tube of Permatex ultra Copper high heat silicon sealer 81878. Gaskets and bolt assemblies are not included with this unit, so you will need to purchase them separately. 35126(2), 31636(2), 31388(2), 31636(2), 31636(2), 31636(2), 31636(2), Having to purchase gaskets, hardware, and even sealer would not have been a problem, but the leaking pinholes in the welds were unforgivable. Fortunately, I was able to repair the problem myself because not having a car for a week while waiting for a replacement that might have arrived in the same condition was not an option.

Welding is shoddy and not as shown in the picture
3/5

I spent a long time on Amazon looking for a resonator for my 2008 Subaru Outback that was closer to the OEM part and had a "rectangle" resonator in the middle rather than the tubular shaped one that many people claim is a "louder" version. This came in the mail. It wasn't the rectangular shape that I was avoiding, but the one that I was trying to avoid. Regarding the welds and their state, this is correct. I didn't put it to the test, but sharp edges and clumpy welding globs don't inspire confidence in the product. br>br>Had I given it a try, it might have worked out and been a good substitute. I mean it is 30 of the OEM price, but I wasn willing to take the chance. I returned the item and the seller promptly refunded my money, so I'm very happy with the seller.

There was a close call, but it wasn't to be
3/5

It turns out that this application requires at least three different pipes. We used the Walker 47840 a few years ago when we needed to replace a pipe. It was the right length, and it fit at the front end and the right muffler, but it didn't quite reach the left muffler. To make it work, I needed to do a lot of adjusting. Walker 47839 was the part number I came across this time. The images appear to be identical. When trying instillation, I was pleased to discover that the pipes at the mufflers fit 100% However, the pipe was at least 6 inches short, and the holes on the flange were% Because there were no other part numbers, I had to do some engineering and cut the front end off the old pipe and splice it on to the new one. Walker has been an Industry standard, but I don t understand why getting a part that fits 100% is such a problem.

For my 2008 Subaru Legacy 2, I ordered this. cylinder number five and four It was a perfect fit, easy to install, and a great price. br>When I went to Midas for an estimate, they wanted $570 to replace it, which I thought was a rip-off.

100% OEM fit '06 Subaru Legacy 2 Fit like a glove with the stock cat and even matched up perfectly with a set of Nameless axleback mufflers aftermarket! There were no issues with the fit at all
5/5

This has been installed on my car for about a month. In New York State, I don't think it'll make it through more than three winters. However, the price is very reasonable for such a good fit.

Stupidity at its finest
3/5

It lasted about 18 months before it began to snap in- two. It snapped right where the Y-joint was welded. It is not worth repairing a pipe that has diverged. Before I buy another Walker product, I'm going to use duct tape.

It's exactly what you'd expect it to be
5/5

It's exactly what you'd expect it to be. I also ordered new hangers, gaskets, doughnuts, and a hanger tool, all of which made the job a lot easier.
