Both ends of the pipe are flared or widened to fit over a 3 inch exhaust pipe, as shown in the photo, and both ends are flared according to the answers to the questions. I bought it specifically for the purpose of cutting it in half and using it on both sides of my exhaust to make two short turndown extensions.
