Connecting two 2 is the purpose of the 41957. A 5" OD pipe is connected to another 5" tube. The ID specification is typically used for mufflers and exhaust tips.

I gave this coupler three stars because the stupid miss - it's not a poor product, it's just not as good as it should be An advertising campaign leading the way. No matter what end of the coupler is upstream or downstream when it is installed, it is still connected. Aside from the overall dimensions, it does not have any inlets or outlets This includes the ID and length of the text. The rampant stupidity this society exhibits is getting on my nerves, and maybe getting a little picky in my old age.

Sadly, the part I ordered was the wrong one (my fault, not the sellers'). After I returned the item, they refunded my money and asked for no refund. It is a top shelf part as far as quality is concerned. It's stainless steel manufactured to a high standard, with straight cuts and no burrs or jagged edges. Product with five stars, seller with five stars. It is more important to check the measurements, as I ordered the wrong part because I didn't measure.
