Having installed a new cap on the side of my '05 Civic that had been leaking (a common and easy repair), since the original had been on for 220k miles and had an oil leak, I decided to also replace the egr gasket. Due to the high cost of Honda OEMs on Amazon and online, I chose Fel Pro for its lower price. *While not quite as good as Honda OEM, which was metal (but still cheap/layered material, not sheet metal), it seems to work. The hardboard-like material in the room is like something that would crumble the moment it got wet, so the leaks nearby need to be fixed right away. Besides that, its cheap and it does what it needs to do.
The 2005 Honda Odyssey Touring is compatible with this part. In my case, I had my EGR valve cleaned I scraped off the old gasket, cleaned the valve, and installed the new gasket that has the same fit as the original. There is a difference in color between this gasket and the OEM (black), but no discernible.
As you might expect, this gasket fitted almost exactly onto the egr port. The only issue may be that it appears to be oversized (which is true), but I would rather it be a bit too big and effective than too small and ineffective. The Pro gaskets I've purchased are a great product that I've used twice to remove the EGR. It's a smooth installation with no leaks or problems, and the gasket paper is really thick.
I used this in a 2003 Honda civic hybrid with a failing egr. It was bought with the intent of removing the EGR valve and cleaning it. I noticed the old gasket was blown when I took it out. It has now been replaced with this one and my egr valve is working Just got the gasket for a lot less than I would have spent otherwise.
I decided about two days after installing this gasket to replace it with something much better. You could probably take a piece of cardboard and a pair of scissors and cut out something that looks much better than this.
It was the right part, so I will keep it in my tool bag. I did not replace the gasket, but kept it in my tool bag.
Our new one worked well as a replacement for the worn out one that was on our vehicle.
I have no leaks from it as I have a 2001 Civic ex. I still need to fix some other leaks.
