Trex Transcend premium deck boards worked well with this project
4/5

I recommend only driving the screw partially into the joist when installing the clip in the first board so that the clip can be mated with the next board. If the screws were initially tight, I had trouble getting the next board into the clip because the plastic was tilting in one direction or the other. After both boards have been mated with the clips, go back and drive the screw all the way into the joist. To avoid overdriving the screw into the plastic or stripping the screw head, use a medium torque setting. To achieve a uniform gap across the board, start by tacking the boards with clips on the ends first.

It's simple to put together decking
5/5

My deck was easy to install and looks great thanks to these fasteners and starter clips. The deck boards are securely fastened to the framework by these clips, which ensure proper spacing.

However, this is a fantastic idea
3/5

Installing is a breeze. I made the mistake of using it on a 95-degree day, and noticed that the boards were rising slightly due to the softening of the plastic. Instead, I used metal trek fasteners and returned these.

The number of clips is described in a way that is highly misleading
3/5

Beware. "192-" according to the description. Sticks stainless steel screws (12 screws per stick)" According to the packaging, there are only 12 sticks. There are 192 deck clips total. I thought I'd bought enough of these plastic clips to cover the entire deck, but I'm running out.
