It was not necessary to use the washer as a spacer on my 1997 F150

It had to be removed so that I can put the tailgate back on. This part worked perfectly, but it would be nice to know that the washer included might not actually be necessary.

I liked the way it worked- I think it was a good idea, but it seems pretty flimsy so I am not sure how it will work
