Could this file be used for piston rings with smaller diameters? Due to the fact that my inline 4 is 1800cc, my rings are pretty large. ?

It doesn't seem to be a problem. It doesn't matter how much space you have between the uncompressed ring gap and the file as long as the wheel fits.

Make sure you first try it on an old ring to get the hang of it, otherwise you will have cuts that are not square and ruin your In addition to the great videos on YouTube, there are lots of tutorial videos available as well.

This is a cost-effective solution for undertaking a project. In order for the cutting wheel to turn, I had to modify the slot in the housing. Installation of the cutting wheel, washer, and nut is important, or the nut will twist and cause the wheel to wobble. *their rings were nicely filed once the machine had been working.

With this tool, you will have a smooth and even cut of your piston rings. You should check the size frequently since it will cut quickly. My only suggestion would be to add a place to collect the grind dust, otherwise this is an excellent.

The mounting bracket is the wrong angle with respect This grinding wheel appears to be mounted more in the middle than it should be. There is a Chinese one I bought for the shop that is much better than this.

Using this to file the edges of piston rings made out of steel was a great purchase. I think it did a good job and I would consider buying it again, just remember to go slow! The accuracy of your work will certainly show if you don't hurry through it, even a simple turn can result in an off by As for the 4 stars, I only gave it because I would have liked another mounting bracket on the other side because this one has a tendency to spin if it's not The price is great, and I would recommend it to others.
