Today I spent the entire day cleaning the block, cylinder heads, and all other applicable parts in preparation for putting the cylinder heads on. I noticed a washer was missing as I was going through the process of cleaning and applying lube to all the head bolts and washers RIGHT BEFORE bolting the heads on. In addition to the box being unpacked, all work was done on and at a large kitchen table with plenty of natural light and a clean, open floor. It is therefore impossible that I lost the washer. In the beginning, there was no washer included in the kit. Given that I just spent $80 on a bolt kit, I cannot even describe how unacceptable and absolutely pathetic this is. That is what I would rate it if I could give it a NEGATIVE 10 star rating. I can't believe it. It's time now to try to find a single washer in order to finish this project, while I am looking for the pieces of the engine I spent all day cleaning. If it weren't for the fact that I spent over an hour cleaning and lubricating each bolt, I would have returned this item.
I received the package in a sealed condition on time. This is the usual high quality I expect from ARP. This kit includes all bolts and washers, as well as a small bottle I used my 355 SBC with aluminum heads, and it worked and torqued correctly. The product is great and I would purchase it again if necessary.
I can't believe how nice these bolts are, The quality seems high and the product seems well made. Since I bought these premium fasteners, my opinion of these premium fasteners has begun to change. I wasn't originally interested in ARP because of cost alone, but since I've used them, I can see the benefits.
You cannot call them anything else but ARPs.
A set of these bolts was used to rebuild an SBC - I am very happy with this.
They ship these things with a protective coating that I wish I have to wash this off with a lot of effort. Apart from that, it is what it is meant to be. Instructions, bolts and washers are included, as well as Although the threaded holes in the head bolts go into the water jackets, it would be nice if the thread sealer were included.
They have been doing the job as they should.
