The motor mounts on a Jeep XJ are simple to install. They should be, at the very least. These mounts, however, are noticeably taller than my previous mounts. By placing a block of wood on my jack and applying light pressure to the oil pan, I was able to relieve pressure from my original mount. The old mount was removed, and a new one was placed in its place. The difference in mount height became apparent at this point. This mount is about a half-inch to an inch higher than the previous one. Fortunately, I had another jack and an extra 2x4 on hand. Because there isn't a good way to jack up the block from the exhaust side, I ended up jacking up the block where the oil pan lip meets the block. It wasn't ideal, but it got the block to tilt/lift enough on that side to line up with the hole on this mount. This wouldn't be an issue if you were doing both sides because you'd have both mounts disconnected and be able to raise the entire engine with the block on the oil pan, but I didn't have the other side off because the other mount works fine, so I had to tilt the block. If you don't have an extra jack, you could simply disconnect the other side. I'm sure you could raise the entire block, and then when you need to hook the other side back up, it would naturally lean as you lower it. It loses one star for making things more difficult than they need to be, but it keeps the other four because it appears to be working fine now that it's in place.
The 2569 is not compatible with the Jeep XJ Cherokee. It necessitates the use of two 2572 mounts. The "Add all three" button on the "Frequently Bought Together" page gives you one of each 2569 and 2572, as well as the trans mount. This is incorrect; the Anchor website specifies two 2572s. This is NOT the way to order them. br>br>Apart from that, they appear to be viable. The issue is with the ordering process, not with the product itself.
Installed on both sides of the engine in a 1997 Jeep Cherokee; fit was perfect, and it appeared to be an OEM part; solved some engine vibrations and movement. This jeep has electric fans, and the engine was moving fast enough that the fan was occasionally contacting it. The problem was completely solved by replacing the old mounts with these mounts.
First and foremost, these things, regardless of brand, are simple to install. The only issue was that the bottoms of these (where the threads are snugged) were not flush, but that was easily remedied with some hammering and vice work. I would buy it again for my Jeep yj at this price.
Amazon has it for a lower price than Advance.
If you're undecided about which one to choose, I purchased a pair of omix- First, try the ada version of this mount - What a knucklehead! This anchor model was used in its place, and it works perfectly. If you're on the fence about which one to get, go with this one. Omix ada is a garbage disposal system.
Perfect fit for a 1999 XJ. It was replaced at the same time as the exhaust manifold. It's very simple. It was simple enough to line up with a jack under the engine and a small pry bar.
These were purchased to take the place of "Westar ANDEM- I installed a 2572 Engine Mount" last week (middle in photo) to replace the OEM mounts (left in photo). After one week, the west mounts sagged, causing noises and vibrations. With the weight of the engine, the anchors are closer to oem ride height. The test run went better, so we'll see how these hold up in a week. Even though they're a little beefier than the Westars, they're still quite quiet at night. But it's a lot better than $90 poly. For the time being, I'm going to call it a win.
