This set was purchased to replace an Astro set that did not have a cable. That one worked great, but it was stolen, so I went out and purchased this one. Bad idea. 0 out of 5 stars
Yes, it will work; however, it isn't particularly resilient.
The cable measures approximately 28 inches in length. It's certainly long enough to fit anything in the engine compartment. The tool set is quite impressive. I wasn't sure I needed so many pliers, but they're very useful.
Yes, it will. There is a tool in there that allows you to open and close the fuel lines.

For many years, I worked as a driveway mechanic. I've been fighting hose clamps of various types with basic pliers for decades. This tool kit is now in my possession. br>br>I like how it comes with a carrying case. Everything is in good working order. The tools are well-made and fit my hand comfortably; I expect them to outlast me. br>br>I was so taken with them that I purchased a set for my son. I expect him to get the same amount of use out of these tools as I did.
Other reviews stated how useful these tools were in making the job easier, and they were correct. In this case, I had everything I needed to remove and replace hoses as part of a water pump replacement. The five bottom pliers were mostly used to open clamps and release them. Except for the separator pliers, which are fourth from the left, I used all of the pliers on the bottom row. The pliers' various angles make it easier to get into tight spaces. For breaking hoses loose, I did not use the pliers with the cable or the pick. The pick pierced the hose I was attempting to untangle. The hose had to be cut back where the pick pocked the hole, so I had to cut it back. This is a very useful set that will help you save time.
This product received a five-star rating from me because it performed admirably. I had a problem with shipping, which caused me a lot of problems because my car was broken down. The fact that there are multiple lock stops is a fantastic feature. I've only used two clam pliers so far, but they've both performed admirably. I'm not a mechanic, so I don't use these tools on a regular basis, but I think they'll be fine.
This tool set was simple to use for me. I'd like to add this set to my collection; You handymen and women are aware of what I'm referring to. My daughter's Chrysler Sebring broke down (though she had needed this set for years). Anyway, when I unhooked hoses from a car, I always used a pair of "CobrasĀ®" pliers. However, depending on where they were located, it could take up to an hour to get to some of them. It only takes me a few minutes now, and I'm so glad I found these! They arrived on time as well!.
The professional technician will not be able to use it. What you pay for is exactly what you get. If you're only going to use it once in a while and you're mechanically inclined, this set is a good buy. For the price I paid, my expectations were slightly higher, but they were mostly met. If you're a professional auto mechanic, I'd recommend skipping this set and instead investing in Snap On, Craftsman, or MAC. It'll suffice in most cases, but you'll waste time fiddling with the tools to get them to work. br>br>There are no instructions on which tool to use for which clamp type, so you'll have to figure it out on your own. Even a simple one-page instruction sheet explaining which tool to use for which clamp type would have been beneficial. br>br>By utilizing the long-term strategy, tool for reaching the cable: Although extremely useful, this tool required a significant amount of hand strength to operate, and the ratchet tooth pitch was too coarse to keep the hose clamp open in the desired position. Even with the vise grip pliers, it was still a lot easier. Similar issues occurred with the other clamp tools. Although I believe this was due to the tools' low-cost stamped steel construction, they did work. br>br>If you only need to remove/replace hoses on cars with the constant-speed transmission on a regular basis, this is the tool for you. This set of tension hose clamps is a great deal and will save you time and aggravation. Aside from that, I'd look for a more powerful tool set.
These things are fantastic for all of those annoying hose clamps that come standard on most cars, the ones that always rip the hose and force you to buy a new one. Now that I have these, none of that is an issue. They've saved my life.
If you're working on a modern car with quick clamps, you owe it to yourself and your knuckles to get this kit. If you're working on something that isn't immediately in front of you, this will save you a lot of time. I was working on a Porsche turbo, and after wasting hours trying to use the standard pliers channel locks I had, I bought this kit. Not Snap- On quality, but excellent in terms of shadetree mechanics.
Perfect. I had previously purchased from an auto store and had thrown it away. This appears to be functioning properly. I'm not sure why I didn't think of it sooner.
