They enable a lot more clearance over the hood, as well as looking great. With dual fuel inlets and a dual fuel intake, I had no trouble clearing my QFT 750 A fuel pressure gauge that sits on top of the fuel line. There was a slight challenge in reducing the air filter stud's length, but that was the most challenging part of the job. I saved a lot of money by just buying the bottom and was still able to use my stock Recently, I purchased one of the best items I have ever bought.
I apologize for the quality of the picture, but you can see how bowed it arrived. I received a box that had a lid that was far too large and very little packing paper. Looks like aluminum without the price. It is not spun, but what is needed for this look. It may need to be polished or steel wool rubbed on it.
There is a L- on my report card On my '70 Corvette, I have a set up from 1988. Recent changes have caused me to switch from Sniper injection to sniper I bought this to modify it to what I need since I can no longer use the factory base. This is an amazing product, made VERY well. If I modify it, I will be able to use it. Those who need a drop style oder who require a base line for making their own custom piece will find this air cleaner base to be extremely useful.
