With the help of some zip ties and a wire loom covering, the cover was installed. There is just enough length to reach the front bumper safely with little room left over. My solution was to cut off the end and fix the cable into a Through Bumper mounted Nema 5 This power inlet has a 15-degree flange. You can find it by clicking the link. The installation is even more robust because of this. My plan is to attach some HD tinfoil near the one end to take some of the heat away from the exhaust pipe, which is right next to it.
I used this strip to install the block heater and it now works just fine. Previously, I had to replace the cord every time I plugged it in because it would trip the circuit breaker in my garage. I had no trouble using this on my 1999 7 with no problems. It has a 3L powerstroke engine.
