heater that came with the earlier 2014 model was not connected to the cord Assuming the new version was still in production at the factory in 2019, it is safe to assume they continued to develop it. Located on the lower right half of the block, 3/4 of the way back just above the pan bolt flange, is a heater.
Included with this pack is a heat shield and a plug protector cap
All 2014 through 2018 diesel equipped vehicles will be able to use this program
I found that it fits perfectly to my 2017 bighorn ecodiesel, so that should be the case for you as well

Unlike other cords, this one has heat shielding and connects to the plug on Because it only goes in one way, you need to be aware of that. As I tried the first cord, it was attached to the side of the power There was a heat shield directly above the block heater, which would prevent the cord from fitting due to its position on top of the engine. As all OEM wires by the block heater were heat shielded, this cord will also be protected from the elements, so I feel much more comfortable.
I didn't think the installation would be as painful as it was. Some reviews claim it is easier to plug in than I had imagined. Safety glasses enabled me to avoid dirt falling from under my chasse, so that was the hardest part. Also, I installed a plug where the tow hooks are on the front of my truck to make it easier to plug in. A battery charger will warm the engine up to 93 degrees overnight, thus proof that the cord works. The smart plug I use allows me to turn it on and off from my phone or Alexa plus can set a schedule as to when it should turn on and off so that it isn't.
On the build sheet for my 2016 Lone Star, the block heater option was not available. However, the heater is already installed in all Ecodiesels. Basically, all I needed was a cord. My only disappointment was that the design or supplier appears to have changed just after I purchased it. There is no heat shield and no weather cap to protect the male plug on mine. It has a right-angle plug, does not have the heat shield, and has a right-angle.
A return request was made and the merchandise was shipped back, and then a 50% restocking fee was charged. Due to the fact that it didn't work, it cannot be restocked.
Delivery in a timely manner. Install it in no time. Approximately the same price as the original CAT part. Installed on a 2016 Laramie diesel.
The only thing that I found to be negative was the so called insulation covering. It was very brittle when I opened the package, and the cord was already crumbling off before I even opened it. If you route the cord away from the heat, you should be fine though.
If you have the 3, I would strongly recommend this. A diesel Ram 0 is available.
I really like how this works. A bit of difficulty was experienced during installation. To remove the tire, we had to force the rim into the socket, which was challenging. I used a 3/8 extension with a dead blow to set it in place after I got it in place.
As the front right tire needed to be removed and lubed, I had to use pliers to press the connector onto the wheel. About 100 degrees Fahrenheit is the fluid temperature I get The installation is painstaking, but it does the job well.
