My brother just gave me a 2011 Ram 2500 with a Cummins engine for free. It was explained to me by the dodge dealer that all of these trucks come with the block insert, and the cold weather group has the cable. The cable is located The screw-on cap measures 1 inch in diameter and is made of black plastic. A metal ring will screw onto the block heater in order to attach the cord to the heater. There is an orange plug on the cord. Adding on to it was not difficult after running the cord across the top of the firewall. In order to install a recessed male plug on the driver's side bumper, I drilled a hole in the bumper and plugged in everything to a short extension cord. The male plug works perfectly. It is helpful when you have to open the mail or grocery store to have the heater powered on with one hand. It is my sincere hope that Whenever the truck is plugged in overnight, and the temperature is in the teens, it starts more quickly/easier
The vehicle I own is a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 6 . I used it for a 7 liter tank and it fit perfectly and worked The year 2016 is not clear to me.
Although I'm not sure if it fits, it looks like it does. Ram might be able to help you with that.
As far as 92' goes, I have no idea. A block heater comes standard on mine, a 2010 model. By the oil filter is where the heater is located. On the heater was a plastic cap designed to protect the threads. It was as easy as unscrewing it, pushing the orange end of the cord in, and screwing it back on. The device has a slot in it so it can only be used in one way. Once the cord had been routed through my bumper, I run it down and up. This is a great product!

I had to jack my truck up and place the passenger side on a jack stand. I ran the engine block heater line from above under the hood and connected it below by reaching my arm beneath to remove the cap, angle the cable correctly, and secure the fasteners. It requires 6 watts of power to run the engine block heater itself. I sheathed the power cable in flexible conduit and installed a female plug on my front bumper so that it looks nice. The power cable can supply 5 amps, so I recommend an extension cord of 16 gauge that is up to 130feet long.
As soon as I bought the truck, it did not have one of these. An installation cost of $150 was quoted by the dealer. I found out later that the heater comes pre-installed Diesel engines from Cummins are equipped with this system. The only thing I needed was this heater cord. I bought it, I attached it to the heater with zip ties, and it took me no longer than 30 minutes. In this case, 25 dollars are better than 20. There's no way to avoid it. It came to mind almost immediately. It was very important to me that there was no cord hanging out of my grill or that I could raise my hood in order to use it. My electrical connector was an electrical connector like the ones you find on boats where you connect an extension cord by opening a little cap. I mounted it beneath the rear bumper beneath the air dam. I am the only one who notices it until I bring it to their attention.
A few updates Insulator damaged by cracks Wires exposed to the elements. It was used for a couple of months and then went "under" for a couple of weeks The weather was chilly, with temperatures at or below zero I actually found a crack in the cord near the plug due to cold temperatures of 20° F. Despite its stiffness, the cord is not flexible enough Almost inflexible when it comes to subcontracting There are no clouds or rain. I have read the original The item works well and can be replaced easily. It's great! What is not to like?.
The product was installed on version It is expected to be 7 Cummins. The majority of people do not have their oil filters off prior to installing the oil filter. If you fail to do so, you are likely to have frustration, awkward angles The oil filter is so big it doesn't even lend much room to the airbox after taking it off. I also attached a NOCO Genius GCP1 Black 13 Amp 125V AC Port Plug, so that I didn't just have the cord hanging. The front bumper was mounted to the connector, then the two were connected. This has given me a very watertight receptacle up front where an exposed wire has very little chance to hang. I highly recommend both products.
I was really impressed by how robust and durable this product appeared. There were no plastic clips included to keep it from being eaten up by the engine when it was mounted along the frame at specified positions. While I don't think it is entirely acceptable to rely on zip ties when there are mounting clips and locations that are designated with OEM components, I gave it 3 stars since the cord otherwise appears to be of excellent quality.
The driver was installed on a 2007 Ram 2500 with a 5 inch display. The diesel engine in this vehicle is a 9 cummings engine. To remove the plug, you will need to loosen the air filter box tubing, then get your hands in there, then use a long flat tip screwdriver to tighten it up, it has little grooves in the cap, so you will have to tap it until tight. I spent about an hour on it. It is plugged in at night with a timer plug to come on at midnight and to shut off at six in the morning I start the computer at five. We will leave at 5 pm and return at 15. There is heat from the heater when the thermostat is set to 30. The team and I are both pleased with the result.
I installed them in only a few minutes and they fit my truck perfectly. The old one was unplugged and the new one was plugged in, then the harness was reattached and it was Just unplug a few electrical connections in the house and plug in a few more. It works great. Unfortunately, it is chilly outside and winter is here. I love it!.
I'm happy to have a warm truck in the parking lot. I love the fit and how well it works. Mornings are nice when you get to start your truck on a warm day. So that the heating won't continue all night, set it on a timer. The lights would be bad for the truck and would save electricity.
