Questions & Answers

Is it possible to turn off and on the fan and compressor at the same time? Would it be possible not to run the fan all the time?

Yes, the Bluetooth ceiling assembly will turn off its fan when it is not in use.

The module will work with the Coleman Mach 3 and does the freeze sensor come with the module?

That should be the case. In this case, it's a 4800 series model, as the machine was designed for the 4800 series. In addition to the freeze sensor, it includes the

Let me ask you one more thing. Would this be for an air conditioner that has a heat strip?

A heat strip is necessary to cool the device (sold separately).

Do you think this will work with a Coleman MAC ?

Sorry if this doesn't help - I am using it on my Mach 15, not sure if it will work on Mach 8

It seems to work, but it was a challenge to However, although I did not receive the one I ordered from Amazon (not the fault of Amazon), I installed one for a friend a few weeks ago
3/5

To begin the installation, follow these steps There was something deeply unfriendly about it, especially when there was a heat strip installed in the existing AC unit. In order to make the heat strip work again, it had to be taken off and replaced The assembly was installed after the component was placed. The AC is a big machine with a lot of sharp metal parts, so it can only be installed by small hands. It's normal to bleed a little. Due to the need for the 120V wiring to be completely replaced It is likely that the wiring will need to be extended if the wiring is routed to a different point. It took me 3 hours to complete the job that I thought I would do in an hour, after which adjustments had to be made. The temperature sensor will constantly cycle on and off if the temperature sensor is located in the recommended position so that there is a significant amount of cold air leaking into the return air system. A long story short, the sensor had to be mounted outside the unit, to the side of the assembly after it was mounted, so the cooling would work properly. Creating a way to conceal it so that it wasn't a spectacle took some creativity. I think this product should have been manufactured and installed by the manufacturer. After installation (a total of 4 hours), the Mach 8's temperature and the fan functioned well as a result of the thermostat. While I would probably like to get another one for myself any time soon, I am in no hurry to undertake the installation again anytime This Coleman video greatly simplifies what needs to be done and a number of things are done out of sequence from what needs to be done.

I am thrilled with the All the parts I needed to upgrade my RV AC unit to electronic/Bluetooth control came with the kit
5/5

If you go with the optional heating element, you're going to find that it's a tight fit inside the unit. If you need to remove something, then do so three or four times while you figure out how to get all that in. You can find it by following these directions You would need to remove the heating element, install the new control unit, then install the heating element back The heater should be installed. There will also be times when one or two of the main mounting bolts will have to be removed to allow space for sliding You may need the appropriate bits for your power drill since you are dealing with something above your head.

This is a fantastic My overall impression of this system is excellent
5/5

It actively controls when the fan will turn off and on based on the temperature. My favorite thing about the new air ports is the new bottom location. It was not too complicated if you take your time. I had to extend the electrical feed, but I already had it, so that did not pose much of a problem. I would say that overall this upgrade is a must-have, despite its cost. My only complaint would be the directions. . There was something weird about the way they were In spite of that, I would have been able to assemble it anyway without directions.

It is very easy to install and a very good product
5/5

The installation was super easy and well worth the money. There was an early indication of it. There are two knobs on the manual controls on my camper, but it doesn't have a thermostat. After some quick research, I came to this conclusion. You can even find a YouTube video that demonstrates how to use This is an easy and almost idiotic task.

It has a poor Bluetooth connection
4/5

Bluetooth connectivity is not very reliable, but other than that, the upgrade is great.

A deal you can't miss
5/5

Purchasing this would be a good upgrade, but it is expensive. I've been using the manual ceiling mounted thermostat version with knobs for years and it has a number of design issues, the most significant being that the sensor is part of the knob, which is located in the cold air stream. I love it. The problem with that is that when you turn it to maximum cool, the thermostat gets cold right away and stops the compressor when the camper is only 75 degrees. It will eventually get the camper down to 70 degrees, The compressor cycles on and off during that entire time, making it hard to figure out why it takes so long. When you set it to 67 then go to sleep, when you wake up with it at 67 in the camper, the compressor has run less, causing the thermostat to warm up, causing it to come on more, cooling the camper effectively. This is a terrible design! Bluetooth temperature sensor comes with a wired temperature sensor instead of just a Bluetooth sensor. If you need to place it in the return air duct, you should position it away from the cold air flow. The compressor actually stays on all the time when I set it to 50F since the return air (camper air) is not quite 50F. It was only worth it for this feature alone. There is also a full relay box included that the knobbed version did not have, and it can also work with any normal remote thermostat. Also, it has an electric display for temperature setpoint, and Bluetooth works nearly 50 feet from the camper, and it works from The code appears to work so far, but I do not know why. It almost seems like Bluetooth range is the same as WIFI range. there is an antenna in the metal frame of the camper? Another thing I was unsure about is the state of the network after a power outage. As an electronic device, it does save the settings even in the event of a power outage, so upon resuming power, the settings will remain as they were, even if power is lost. It also makes a huge difference from the bottom vents on the vent cover because of how much air is sent out, and it can be controlled. Not only is the noise coming out less, the air is coming down to the ground and can be adjusted as well. There is also the plus of being able to do it from anywhere. If there is a cooling requirement, there is no way to turn off the circulation fan, or it remains on the whole time. There is no way to save energy and noise with this version. Among other things, this upgraded version features the Fan Auto feature, which turns on the circulation fan when the AC compressor starts, and turns it off when the AC compressor is turned When I run it off my inverter and batteries, it saves huge amounts of energy. However, if you are trying to sleep, it will cycle on and off when it is hot out at night, but you can choose to keep the circ fan running most of the night if you don't mind that. During the day. . It is great to have this feature. In other words, as long as it continues to work and does not randomly turn off, it will be a great product!.
