The thermostat adjusts the amount of water entering the radiator based on the temperature of the cooling water, changing the circulation range of water to adjust the cooling capacity of the cooling system to ensure that the engine operates within a suitable temperature range, effectively controlling the emissions the engine produces, and keeping the engine temperature stable while driving.
Gasket, O-ring, Thermostat, Connector Housing, and Thermostat Housing were all included in the thermostat housing assembly.

Questions & Answers

For the second sensor, there is no through hole. Why?

Different model year, in my opinion. Some had an ECM sensor as well as a gauge sensor. br>Different management systems for various engine displacement families may be possible.

Are you in possession of the fourth? What is the difference between version 6 and version 8?

No, I've got number four. 0 V6, but it should also work on the V8.

Is this part compatible with a 2005 Ford Explorer?

If you look up the part for a 2005 explorer online and it looks the same, you should be good to go.

Is there a sensor included?

It includes a sensor as well as a thermostat.

The ideal substitute
5/5

This thermostat housing is a perfect match for your old one. On my 2008 Ford Explorer, I replaced the original with this. It's also a simple do-it-yourself project - Why pay hundreds of dollars to have this simple job done when you can do it yourself for less than thirty dollars? Simply disconnect the wire harness, disconnect three hoses, remove three bolts, and wiggle it out from under the wire, then clean up the area and remove any debris before repeating the procedure for the new installation. (I also like to start by covering my belts with a shop towel to keep any coolant drips off of them - Belts that squeak are a no-no. br>br>There have been no leaks so far, and the temperature has remained consistent. This is a fantastic replacement that is well worth the low price. cost.

Ford Explorer (2008 model year) This worked perfectly
5/5

This part was a perfect fit for my 2008 Ford Explorer XLT, and it included the necessary gasket and thermostat. A few hoses to loosen and reposition, a few bolts to remove, some wiring maneuvering (if needed, refer to YouTube videos), swap the leaking assembly for this one, redo the above steps in reserve order, and finally refill the coolant - This took less than 30 minutes to put together and has proven itself over several months, 2000 miles, and weeks of 100-degree weather. It comes highly recommended from me!.

We were able to save the day! This is a true story
5/5

I guess after removing the thermostat to flush it, I overtightened the OEM part's screws, stripped the threads, and couldn't- It is not possible to reopen it. Ruined. I called the auto parts store and was given a ridiculous $100 quote. I've already invested a significant amount of money in my borderline junk car. When I called the junkyard, they wanted $70 plus my old part, which I refused to pay. In the year 2021, I am a resident of the United States of America. I looked it up on the internet, and the price was unbelievable (I was skeptical as well). I put it in a few days later and it works perfectly. I'm still amazed at how good of a deal it was.

Everything appears to be in order
5/5

Great part, it fixed the leak in my wife's truck's original thermostat housing and now it's running like a champ. Although, in my case, I'll probably go with aluminum, this was a great deal.

My Explorer is compatible with this
4/5

The part isn't a carbon copy of a Ford Parts patent, but it is different in terms of industrial design. All coolant hose orfices are identical and fit perfectly. Since I have gone through a few temperature thermostat housing replacements, this Amazon vendor delivers an equal or greater value price part for its economical standard applications; I measured center to center housing assembly bolt holes, and they fit exactly on the engine. Price versus quality strikes a good balance; since I have gone through a few temperature thermostat housing replacements, this Amazon vendor delivers an equal or greater value price part for its economical standard applications.

I'm not sure how good it is
3/5

After installation, the new one began to leak. It was necessary to remove the unit in order to reseal the new housing and reinstall it. It just seemed like a low-quality part, so I'll keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't continue to leak.

It was a cinch to swap it out
5/5

It's a big plus that you don't have to be concerned about the sensor or thermostat. A couple of hoses were replaced and changed in less than half an hour. Thank you once again for the excellent work.
