Is this compatible with a Chevrolet 5?

Yes, they will work with the 5. 7 chevy

Is this compatible with a LS engine?

I'm sorry, but I have no idea. There is a distinction between LS1 and LS2. GM made modifications to the LS throughout its development. The outside diameter of these restrictors is 2 1/8". Take a look at the OD of your thermostat housing to see what size it is. Also keep in mind that the thermostat and housings on some early LS engines were one piece. I apologize for not being more specific, but you did not specify which LS you were looking for.

Is this going to work on a Ford flathead?

I'm not sure what kind of thermostat a flat head Ford had. A standard 2 1/8" thermostat can be replaced with this thermostat.

0 Cherokee, please keep the temperatures consistent! In my Jeep 4, this worked perfectly. Cherokee has zero points. Jeeps are known for overheating and operating at high temperatures. I replaced my mechanical fan with electric fans for my radiator, but my thermostat didn't get along with my fan temp switch, which turns on at 195 degrees and then shuts off at 175 degrees. The temperature in the room was 195 degrees. My thermostat was constantly opening and closing as a result of this. I used the tiniest one, and it consistently gave me 190 points. day. I realize it's not a listed vehicle, but I'm glad I took a chance on it.

Cooling that is consistent

500hp, 406cu in. , on a Dart block I started with a medium-sized restrictor on a small block Chevy, but found that the smallest one provided better cooling. Compared to the 160 and 180 degree thermostats I started with, this restrictor made it easier to get air pockets out of the Dart block and provided more consistent temperatures while driving.
