This OEM part performed exactly as expected and replaced the original perfectly. The included thermostat keeps the R at a comfortable temperature. It's a quick and easy job that comes with the added benefit of a new temperature control device on a vehicle with 100k miles on it. On these elbows, I've previously replaced thermostats. It's worth it just to do this component and save the time and effort of squeezing the'stat into place in the elbow for the price.
My 2012 Chrysler Town and Country minivan was a perfect fit for it. It also had the factory Mopar stampings, which I liked. There is no need to purchase a separate rubber gasket because one is already included. To avoid cracking the plastic housing, use a torque wrench to apply the proper torque to the mounting bolts. Take a look at any of the how-to videos. YouTube videos for DIY installation.
Her engine light came on with a code indicating that her thermostat was stuck open, and she drove around in the country just fine. I took it to a repair shop, where the cost of diagnosing and replacing this item was $213. It sounded bad, but they charged an hour for diagnosis and the rest for labor and the part, so I figured mine would go out sooner than hers. This part, as well as 2 gallons of Chrysler coolant, were delivered to me. It cost $60 to replace the coolant and the thermostat. This is a great deal, in my opinion.
Two bolts and one hose repair on an OEM Mopar part. Everything went smoothly. Because you'll lose some, get the Mopar antifreeze to go with them. The antifreeze was more expensive than the part, but it fit perfectly and included an o-ring gasket.
In a 2015 Dodge Caravan, this is a great fit OEM part that installs quickly and easily.
Don't waste your time looking for low-cost items at auto parts stores that cost the same or more. Make sure the block mating surface is clean before installing it, and torque it to spec, and you'll be good to go!.
This is a Mopar OEM product, and it performs admirably for my son's Dodge Avenger in terms of form, fit, and function. My trouble codes were resolved as a result of the installation. A much lower cost than the dealership, as well as a simple installation. It's possible for a caveman to do it!.
The engine light code issue I was having with the thermostat possibly sticking was resolved as a result of this.
