If both your tranny and engine are hot, this is a good place to start. I bought this because my 9 f250 wasn't shifting right on the highway when towing a boat. After installing this, I have no problem going 80 miles per hour if I want.
Despite the fact that these kits are generic and extremely adaptable, I strongly advise you to consult with Hayden Automotive technical support about your specific application. br>Also, keep in mind that this kit may or may not include all of the components/hardware required to adapt the tranny cooler to your vehicle - or, for that matter, any other brand's kit - as a result of this, some "shade-producing" Ingenuity on the part of the "tree mechanic" could be required.
BTW - This Hayden Automotive cooler fits my Avalanche perfectly, and I haven't had a problem with transmission oil temperature since installing it.
Only if it's plugged in or installed incorrectly will it not work. How will you know if it doesn't work if you don't test it? You'd have to keep track of the temperature before and after the installation.
If you have any questions about fitment, you should contact Hayden Automotive.

Installed in a 1977 Chevy C10 with a TH400 automatic transmission. It was simple to put together, and the item's quality was excellent; overall, I was pleased.
Just putting it out there. It's sandwiched between my air-conditioning unit and my heating unit. It keeps my heavily customized Turbo350 cool on road courses, drag strips (although I don't do much drag racing with this car), and in heavy traffic on the street.
Transmission oil cooler of a good size - There are a lot of cooling coils. It didn't quite fit the way it was supposed to. The nylon mounting straps were not used by me. Between the condenser coil, the "A" frame support bar, and the horizontal sensor mount, there was just enough room to mount the cooler. I use Adel clamps at the bottom to secure the sensor mount, and stainless steel tie straps at the top to secure the "A" frame support bar. This allowed for a secure mounting location while still leaving room between the cooler and the condenser. The radiator and condenser can be removed if necessary, but the cooler must remain in place.
Attached between my coil and radiator, vertically mounted to replace the radiator's built-in cooler, will update later, good fit and form, function to be determined 05/22- update: The cooler is working perfectly, there are no overheating issues, and it's actually a little cool because I ordered this one because it was twice the size I required. After rebuilding the system, it took 11 1/2 quarts to fill it from dry, which is only 1 quart more than the stock amount. It was exactly what I was looking for.
Installed on my 2008 Altima to help extend the life of my CVT at a great price. I keep track of my cvt's temperatures, and they've stayed 20 degrees cooler on average since I installed this. It's a nice product that comes with everything you'll need to get it up and running.
The product appears to be of good quality. It's light and airy. Bending the fins is simple - As a result, handle with caution. The connection fitting they provide is only compatible with a specific vehicle - I had to buy a new fitting because the one I had was not mine (finding it was a challenge). br>br>Apart from the plastic tie thingies, there are no other mounting options. If it had a place to mount some angles for mounting to a frame, that would be ideal.
About 4 months ago, I installed this on my 1979 Camaro. It really works. There aren't any leaks and there aren't any issues. This was used in conjunction with my stock cooler, and a fan was added, 99 f450 7. 3, towing an 8500-pound camper from Mobile, Alabama to Oklahoma, the trans twos stayed around 170-pounds. Even hills require 185 horsepower.
