After trying to solder in replacement bulbs that were burned out on the circuit board, I damaged my old one. This item is a great replacement because it is low cost, compatible with the old unit, and has a blank defrost button that can be replaced with a new one. As long as you are willing to go to the effort, you can use the old face plate on the new body. To me, it's not a big deal if a button I know does not function. It is possible that someday I can find replacement glass that has a defrost feature, though the knobs are a bit gnarly from use. My unit already had those batteries, so I replaced them with them. I don't really care about that at all. In this instance, removing the trim bezel to pop out the current unit, and replacing it with a new one, will resolve your inoperative climate control issue in less than five minutes.

The OEM-like quality is here, but at a much more affordable price

The installer is easy to use. A problem with my night display lights has not been resolved and there is no easy fix. Replacement cost is affordable and the product performs well. I would have done it months ago if I had known it would be this easy and affordable. It only takes a couple of screws and a little prying with your fingers to remove the instrument panel cover. This job shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.

Dorman gave me the product number after I searched it on the website. Having an extended cab truck is what I have. Despite being equipped with rear air buttons, it still had a Installing the in-box rear button or the blacked out button was all that was required. It just didn't seem to be the right place for the button The controller also turns my air conditioner on and off when the button is in the Firstly, you have to turn the fan speed up, then turn the a/c off, and then again turn the fan off. If you drive while your air conditioner is cycling.

A zone with combined air output does not have blended air

This is just an FYI for those who are interested in buying. There is a knob in the middle that controls where the air will be distributed differently than on the OEM unit. When you click off the front vents, air should flow from the foot vents as well as the front Using this, all of it can be thrown to the floor by a single click. The output between zones is not blended here! It is typical of Chinese knock offs that they appear fine, but something is always.

This Chevy Silverado came from 2001

No speed was set for the fan. A new blower resistor and a new blower fan were installed. The fuse still didn't blow. All of the components worked, so I guessed the control unit must have failed. No switch could be purchased only as a replacement. This is a great tool. Each time I searched on Google, I got the same results fan or resistor. I am posting so others will know that it could be the switch in the control unit if they do not have any fan speeds to speak of. I hope it will be helpful to.

As someone who has worked in the automotive field for several years and worked with many Dorman parts over the years, I was in need of a new HVAC It seemed to me for over a year that I had no choice but to either send my control panel to be remanufactured or reman. Afterward, the Dorman and Amazon sites told me there was a new HVAC panel available of which this part number panel is. I think it took maybe ten minutes to do the whole thing. The replacement climate control was a close fit OEM replacement for my 2002 Silverado and seems to be well made. I am glad to finally have lighting on the controls. I could not fix the fan not working in position 4. It was necessary to acquire a new resistor unit to accomplish this.

My 2002 K2500 HD LT EXT Heater controls fit perfectly

The originals matched my 2002 k2500 HD LT EXT perfectly. It is a Silverado Cab. In less than 15 minutes, I was able to install it. I really like the fact that the control panel has lights. One of the best things about this is that the sideview mirror heaters have It is no longer necessary to freeze my fingers removing ice in the winter.
