Four Seasons 38902 Orifice Tube

In my understanding, the orifice tube has a spring attached to it that adjusts the orifice size where the refrigerant flows, but it could impede refrigerant flow if the spring becomes inoperative. Fixing the size of the orifice on the fixed tube makes it more reliable since there are no moving parts to fail, and the refrigerant can flow freely through the tube.

In addition to designing the fixed orifice tube at Harrison, the person who came up with the variable orifice tube was also at Harrison. Having a great time with it. When I start the car and the engine is running at idle and low revs, I can feel the A/C working well. When my car has been sitting in the sun for a while the dash and vents start getting hot. After driving for a while, the inside of my car cools off much better. Although they cost a bit more than fixed orifices, the extra money spent on these is well worth it.

I just replaced the orifice tube on my Astrovan about half way through summer when my a / c went out. I had to find the leaky O ring first of all, and while I was in there, I also replaced the drier. Ever since, everything has gone according to plan. There is a much colder breeze from the air conditioner now. The product is great.

It is called 4 seasons and they use vendors but it is not for me, it has the wrong orifice and it will be returned.

All parts from four seasons were used to replace the compressor, accumulator, orifice tube, oil, and flush the system. Well-built and fabricated in Texas, they have a long lifespan. The system will produce 40 degree air on a very hot day (100+) in Texas, and even colder if the temperature is On the gap between the pulley and the plate that drives the compressor shaft, the gap had a bit of wear. If the plate was not engaged, it would rub against the pully and make a scraping noise. The only time it occurred was when the compressor was no longer makes this sound now that it has worn in. Four seasons parts are the only ones I would buy, and I would buy It is four stars because of the scrapping, and I am rating all the parts as one. Five stars would have been perfect, and maybe down the road I'll have the chance.
