This is the intake coolant elbow. Ford 4 in 2000. 2L V- Corrosion and leakage are common with this part. It's the intake manifold's coolant elbow (on the right side, above the thermostat housing). The dealer wanted $1600 to replace the entire intake manifold and other components. br>To replace the part, get two gals. Antifreeze, a new thermostat and gasket, and a gasket for the intake manifold (upper only). The water pump was also replaced. br>Remove the upper intake manifold and drain the coolant. Remove the thermostat housing as well as the thermostat. Taking the hose out of the leaking elbow is a good idea. To collapse the elbow near the intake, tap it with a long thin chisel (drift). In most cases, the pipe will break. The broken piece should then be tapped into the thermostat opening. The broken piece falls out the bottom and lands in the area where the thermostat used to be. Clean the area and replace the elbow. Use a blue sealer to seal the tube and tap it into the intake. Keep in mind that the thermostat is oriented toward the engine as the spring is pushed in. On the gasket surfaces, apply a thin coat of blue sealer.
Hundreds of dollars were saved because of this part. If you own a Ford 4x4, this is the article for you. This is what you'll need if you have a leaking coolant hose. It's a pain to replace, but if you know how, it's well worth the effort. With a piece of steel water pipe, you can make a tool to drive it in straight; however, be careful when pressing it into the manifold; if it doesn't go in straight, you'll have to buy another one. I got mine on the first try, and it's as good as new.
Without having to spend $800 or more on a fix, this is the ideal solution. For the price of this part and an upper manifold gasket, I was able to fix mine by cutting off the old one and chiseling it down and out of the thermostat housing hole.
0L Motorcraft is a company that specializes in the production of small engines. KM4528 Tube is a tube with a diameter of 4528 millimeter This product was extremely useful. There is a tube that is similar to this one. Make sure you get the right tube for your vehicle by doing some research.
$ to remove the old one and end up tearing my rotator cuff by hammering it out. This will not be in stock at any auto parts store, and ordering it will cost you at least $20. Keep in mind that the new one will be installed at a 45-degree angle. Please look up pictures of people who have replaced this part on the internet. It will be beneficial in the long run.
I'd like to express my gratitude to the reviewers who have left comments on this page. Your reviews saved me the money I would have spent on a lower manifold. Two workshops (one for dealers and the other for non-dealers) have been established. I was told by the dealer that the lower needed to be replaced. The dealer quoted three thousand dollars for the upper, 1679 for the lower, and eight hours of labor. Their mechanic, on the other hand, revealed that the corroded component was a connecting part. After reading the reviews here, I decided to take a 17-dollar gamble on the bypass tube. The truck is now in good working order. Thank you for the suggestion, gentlemen!.
I was able to save $400 on an intake manifold by using this method. 4. (02 F150) 2L) Requires a lot of work, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a proper diagnostic, experience, or tools, because a new intake manifold may be required in some cases.
Your van or truck has a 2L V6 Ford engine. For this part, you can't rely on Amazon's fitment guide, but if this is the case,.
