No, it's plugged to see if any leaks are present. Metal clips are bolted to the ends of rubber plugs. When you remove the first one, you should hear a pop.

It appears to be of high quality. There were a few flattened fins in the packaging, but not enough to make the product unusable. If you're looking to buy a 2006 Ram 2500 or 3500, double-check the build date. Dodge switched things up in the middle of the season. the year of the model Pull the HVAC box and look inside to see which evaporator you have; otherwise, the connection hardware and evaporator mounts are different. Model 54964 (later) may be required instead. My construction began in February of this year. I needed the later model because I was only 6 years old at the time.
My 2002 Ram 1500 4x4 has no issues with it. Note that the core of this thing is under extremely high pressure (not vacuum, as I had assumed) and that the rubber plug shot out like a bullet a second or so after I removed the clamp. I was on the verge of losing my sight. That plug was nowhere to be found - I was outside, and it must have soared over a hundred feet into the sky.
I didn't realize it until I was putting everything back together and installing the new accumulator that it wouldn't fit all the way in, so I had to cut the a/c accumulator filter in half to get it to fit. Before I cut the new a/c accumulator filter, I made sure it was the same length as the one I removed from my truck. br>Apart from that, when you put them side by side, they look exactly like the factory.
Couplers were defective, so I had to remove the dash assembly a second time, and I bought a Mopar evaporator from the factory. Factory fit and performance are unrivaled in the industry.
The fit is perfect. The foam surround on this was superior to the OEM version I removed. It was the perfect fit. Before installing it, it was pre-pressurized with something to ensure there were no leaks.
This is a nice, low-cost replacement that fits perfectly in my Dodge 3rd generation.
