There is a lack of pressure. However, the system was not able to cycle properly. It only stays on for 5 or 6 seconds before shutting off after 14 to 15 seconds. I'm still undecided about the problem.
In May of 2019, I bought one of these, but it didn't come with the O-ring. ring, despite the fact that the note at the top of the page says so.

Computer sensors should always be purchased from the manufacturer. Third-party vendors, particularly those from China, should be avoided. Never buy rebuilt or remanufactured primary system parts such as the brake hydroboost, master cylinder, power steering pump, or alternator from a third party. When you realize you should have bought new OEM parts, you'll be sorry and double your personal labor. Take it from someone who spends a lot of time working on cars as a hobby and who has had a lot of bad experiences with repair shops.
It was well worth the extra money. It really works. I completely redid my system about ten months ago. This switch has been replaced with an Auto Zone replacement. This spring, the air conditioner would only turn on when it felt like it. It would blow warm air when it was at a standstill. This OEM switch was installed in place of the previous one. Now the system is working perfectly. Spending money on aftermarket is a waste of money.
My air conditioner would cycle on and off. The compressor came on and ran fine after I shorted the low pressure switch (on the drier), but the auto parts store wanted more than $100. 00 for a low-cost knock-off version with a difference It was here that I discovered it and placed my order. Because this has a schrader valve underneath it, you won't lose any refrigerant when you remove it to replace it. Simply remove the old one, replace it, and plug it in. Done!.
The air conditioning pump would not turn on at all. To simulate the switch being present and functioning, I shorted the connector that leads to it. The pressure in the system was so low after swapping the sensor that the pump kept cycling on and off. This continued until the pressure had dropped into the green range. Keep in mind that the pressure you're looking for is when the AC pump is turned on and running.
If it's an ACDelco part, which it appears to be, it should simply replace the original part, which is 20 years old. It's important to note that this did not completely resolve the issue.
My 2002 Chevrolet Silverado's air conditioning would turn on for a few minutes before blowing hot air. It now functions as it should after this part was replaced.
Keeping OEM parts on my Z71 is a constant battle for me. Oreilly's was where I first got one. (I've always purchased my parts there, primarily because I worked there for a few years. ) However, I frequently encounter parts that aren't functioning properly. In my case (2000 Silverado), I believe you can get a better deal if you buy the brand they sell (Murray). To make the one they have fit, they'll need to buy an adapter. It says that in the store, near the part number, electronic- catalog. I looked everywhere for that adapter but couldn't find it. This AC Delco one, on the other hand, is a perfect match for the factory one.
I adored the idea of being able to simply replace it without wasting Freon. Also, the cost was very reasonable.
