Is this the accumulator's on/off switch?

Yes. Keep in mind that there are several different threads available for these switches. Check to see if this is appropriate for your situation. Regrettably, I had to learn the hard way.

Isn't there supposed to be an o ring included with this? Or does the switch not need an o ring?

I simply removed the old one and replaced it with the new one, which worked perfectly.

I have a 1993 GMC Sierra K1500 and this fits perfectly; I had originally ordered one off of eBay that was made in China and was just a smidgeon too big

As a result, I ordered this one, which is extremely comfortable. On chevys, these parts fail frequently. However, I now need to replace the compressor. Let's hope for some cool air conditioning.
