The suspension is a 1976 In my old cable, the speedo would jump all over the place until the car reached 55 mph, when it would finally settle. Unless you were traveling over 50 mph, I made an educated guess as to how fast you were going. The speedo cable is a big improvement over the original. It works like silk now that I have lubricated it with graphite. The only problem I encountered with it was that the large end threads (where it attaches to transmission or transfer case) were not as precise as they should have been. I would turn it about 3/4 of the way to maybe one turn, The collar had to be worked back and forth several times before it threaded all the way. This required cutting oil, vice grips, and an hour of patience.
