It was an exact fit and a good price. The cable I desired was not available in any of the local parts stores. I live 20 minutes from town, so I called all the local stores to find out. Despite being the closest in price (still a little higher), the company required me to come in and buy the cable in person. My question was about doing a payment over the phone, and he said it could not be done. I had to physically show up to pay. Moreover, I told you "You should realize that Amazon is doing everything it can to put you out of business. ". To get the cable, I have to spend an hour driving in to pay, then drive back into town to pick it up tomorrow. Today I can order the cable on the Internet and I will receive it in the mail on Wednesday evening! This means I won't waste gas, and I'll be able to do other things during those two hours. This was the deal that the parts store guy told me. The cable I needed was still there and I saved a few dollars, five hours, and two hours.
The 1981 CJ5 had no problems with the set. There is a slight variation between 25 and 40 miles a hour on the speedometer, so as a result I deducted one star. This seems to be caused by the cable rubbing inside the housing just a bit. went over the length of the cable with a very light coating of white lithium grease before installing it, but the cable still bounces just a little. There isn't enough speed to make it difficult to tell how fast you are going, but just enough to be things considered, it is a deal that I would buy again at this price.
This was an excellent product. Ensure that you lubricate the screws with lithium grease white. The WD-E is what I used The 40th version is available. Reassemble the cable by removing the sleeve, spraying the grease into it, and then replacing the sleeve The cable needs to be inserted. Then I let it sit for a few minutes with both ends elevated, and then I poured out any extra grease. Due to this, the speedometer has a smooth reading and does not bounce around. I am very pleased with this.
A 1980 Jeep CJ7 4 came up for sale, so I bought this. The 2L with the Tremec T-drive It consists of 176 transmissions. A thread was available on the other end for attaching to the transmission, but the other end connected perfectly to the gage cluster. There is a very sharp bend at the attachment point of the cable, as well as several inches shorter than the cable it replaces.
Each of these cables will have to be reduced by an inch and a half I would like a third of In order to install, connect the reduced end to the odometer before connecting to the trinity. Be careful not to overtighten. Having a sticky needle will lead to a stab.
I didn't move the speedometer cable 2 miles, the distance of my test drive. The cable appeared to be binding at some point, as a consequence the speedometer never turned and the end of the cable mounting on the transfer case became a bundle of shredded and spun.
The cable fits perfectly on the Jeep CJ5 model of 1979 to replace a broken one. A speedometer that is accurate with no “needle bounce” reads well.
