A replacement was made for the original. It consists of two pieces. I've got a cable on my 200k + mi computer. This 1987 Monte Carlo SS is very rare. I am the original owner, so I recognize that it is a factory-installed Initially, the cable will be one PC at a time. It is too small, but I had some initial trouble with the speedo jumping from 10 to 11 mph, but that now has disappeared. Maybe the grease on the cable wasn't as supple as it should have been since it was pre-greased. Despite the fact that the speedo bounced up until about 40 with the old cable and the car operated poorly due to the VSS receiving an erratic signal (the TCC going in and out for one thing), it's amazing how a cable could correct all of those issues.

The speedometer cable was the perfect replacement for a broken one

Tape covered the ends of the cable so dust wouldn't enter. The cable was left exposed to the heat for a day to dry. By using this approach, we were able to have a cable that was smooth and almost bend-free. As a replacement for my original two piece cable, this cable is excellent. You may want to use a string to tie to the old cable when removing (this will make the new installation.

The cruise unit was removed from my 86 K20 truck and I installed a cable to connect the NP205 transfer case to the speedometer. I have been satisfied with this product so far, the cable appears to be lubricated unlike other sellers' products that require lubrication before To keep the cable from being weighed down by ice and snow, I clamped it to the back of the transfer case so brush and leaves do not snag on it. Make sure that the cable doesn't rub against something hot or sharp. That way, it will last for.
