OEM quality product.
It took more than an hour to get the ATP Y818 to fit my 77 F250 four wheel drive highboy with C6 auto and Divorced mount 205 transfer case with 95 inches of extension out of the box. It is CORRECT to put both ends of the speedo and T case together. If the ATP Y848 or the PIONEER CA-118 is unavailable, I need the 126 inch Pioneer CA-109.
I put this on my 1979 Ford F-150, and it fits perfectly, is long, and looks great.
Replaced with an exact replacement that bolted I have fixed the speedometer so that it works smoothly once more.
It was exactly what I needed.
The cable was purchased from Car Quest, but you can find it for a much lower price online. As a result, I was disappointed that the length I needed had been discontinued. The current lengths available are 3 feet, 5 feet, and 7 feet. I used an 82 inch cable on a 1976 Ford F150 regular cab, 8 foot bed, part time 4 wheel drive, and manual transmission. The length of this cable is too long, so it needs to be rerouted. After putting on the speedometer end, I had a hard time getting the pinion gear onto the motor. There was a problem with the length of the inner cable. The speedometer head and trans end of each piece are squared so that they can fit into each other. As long as the squared end on the trans end was longer I could have cut it down and it would have worked. Unless the item worked, I couldn't return it, so I tried and didn't have an option to return it. Removing the speedometer head first then removing the trans end is the easiest way to do so. You should install the speedometer end before the trans end when installing the new one.
