However, there are two medium issues with the product. There are two things that would have made it a five star review. ** 1 - There is no prelubrication of the cable as other posters have previously mentioned
2 On the transmission end, there is a gap in the jacket crimping. The fix for number one is easy, just pull the core out and grease it as you replace it. (This can cause leaks if there are leaks in your transmission. )
Fixing number 2 is not so easy. You will need some silicone gasket and electrical tape to fix number 2. I put a thick layer of tape around the outside of the crimped jacket then wrap the tape around the outside of the blob of silicone starting from the outside. As I wrapped the silicone with the tape, I made sure that all the silicone was enclosed. Next, I applied hot silicone a second time on the gap with the tape so it was forced into place. Tape is still in place on this section and it is sealed now. Therefore, if it weren't for those two issues, this would be a 5 star product. Overall, it appears to be a solid product. I liked the length of the article.
The thought occurs to me. For the sake of benefit of doubt, I have given it 5 stars. My first impression was a good one. My length was ideal. I found it to fit Despite this, however. It appears to have fallen onto my exhaust pipe because I got in a hurry and didn't strap it in place, causing it to melt so badly that it will not In either case. During the transmission repair, one of the internal worm screws was As a result, it didn't work. If it wasn't the product's fault, I would purchase again. I didn't believe it was the product's fault, so I'd purchase again if I found it was the car's problem.
It was extremely frustrating since I ordered one and as soon as it was installed it was leaking, so they sent me a new one but it was even worse as the new one had a very cheap crimp on the attached part. I decided to get one from a different vendor. You'd be better off going with one that's a bit more expensive and isn't going to leak transmission fluid on your concrete AND within your dash.
The leak seemed to be quite substantial to me before. As far as I was concerned, it might simply be a leak in the pan. I noticed that there was still a puddle under the car after replacing the trans pan gasket. The cable is great. I bought it. All parts fit perfectly, including a Stewart Warner speedo and a THM350. As well as length, it was perfect. I would recommend a length that is neither too long nor.
In addition to working well, it was also reasonably priced. I found it to be an excellent match for my 1970 CJ5. The model I had was perfect for my purposes. If you use it in any other model, you might need a few inches more but the one I had worked great.
I thought this part was great quality, and the price was 10X less than buying it from a classic GM parts vendor!.
My 1977 Chevrolet Silverado was not compatible with this item, as it was shown to fit on Amazon. I took it off my truck and it was about 2 feet shorter. The part that screws into the back of the gauge cluster was also the wrong type as that on my truck I thought was a type that clipped in and was held in place with a clip.
I had no problems with it and it The speed I'm going is now evident when I look at my watch. The Chevy Pickup I used is a 1968 Chevy. It was a perfect.
