The likelihood of it working without modifications is low.
What you use it for will depend on what you plan on doing with it. You might be able to get away with it if it were a tractor. In my opinion, it is not suitable for use in a road vehicle. This choke cable performs well as a choke cable.
The choke bracket for the 1494 carburetor will not fit a Rochester Quadrajet carburetor.
It is possible to convert a 1406 to a manual choke if you decide to do so.

This product was very easy to install and the cost was very reasonable as well. Using it on a 1976 Ford F600 with a 391 V8 and Edelbrock carburetor was a great experience for me.

A screw is not visible in the picture. A well-made product. There is no screw shown in the picture. I give it a 4 star rating for that reason.
