It should be compatible with Ram 1500 models from 2013 to 2018.
Yes, they are installed on my 2014 Ram 1500 5. 7 Sport 4x4
You should only have a 5 lug bolt pattern unless you've changed your front hubs and rear axles to a 6-lug pattern. My 2017 Ram Rebel has a 5-lug bolt pattern, as well.
We installed them on a 2017 Ram 1500 and they performed admirably. You can learn more about them by visiting their website. Good luck
Selected User Reviews For Power Stop K2164-36 Front & Rear Z36 Truck and Tow Brake Kit
In the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, I drive a Ram 1500 Laramie and tow a trailer on a regular basis. The gradients are extremely steep! The brakes from the factory had failed! As a result, these have been replaced. There is a significant difference in stopping distance after about 200 miles of break-in. I'd say at least 20 feet shorter. br>(Brake pads and rotary take about 200 miles to match up and seat properly, so don't be alarmed if they don't work as well right away. ) This applies to any brake pads and rotors, and if you have them replaced at Brakes Plus or elsewhere, they will advise you to drive slowly for the first 100 to 200 miles. br>When I bought the kit, it included not only new pads and rotors, but also all new hardware and rubber boots, which is something that very few companies do anymore. There was also a small lube packet included. If you've never done a brake job before, take your time, watch some YouTube videos on your specific car or truck, get a service manual like Chiltons from an auto parts store, read up on your brake system, and use a quality torque wrench set to tighten the bolts. If you don't want to buy one, you can rent or borrow one for the day from a parts store. br>If it's your first time, allow at least half a day. Make sure you jack up the vehicle safely and that the axel, not just the jack, is supported by jack stands. Only lube the slide bolts with the lube. Copper lube from Permatex is my personal choice. It has a higher standard of excellence. This is something you can buy on Amazon. br>Each rotor came with a label indicating which wheel it should be used on. Do not mix them up as they are directional. I'm guessing the people who complain that they don't last mixed them up, causing premature wear and even failure. I thought the label was a nice touch, and I believe it was done to prevent people from messing it up. The parking brake uses the inside of the rear rotors as drum brakes, so the rear rotors on my 2013 Ram 1500 are different from the front ones. The rear calipers differ from the front calipers, so the pads and calipers must be mounted differently. After you've removed the caliper, hang it with a strap or caliper hanger. Never hang it from the hose or put pressure on it. It can damage the hose, resulting in brake failure at an inopportune time, potentially resulting in a crash, injury, or death. br>If you're used to working on brakes, 15-minutes is a good place to start. Depending on whether or not rust debris is removed, 20 minutes per wheel is required. If you want to paint the caliper and carrier, it will take a little longer. I cleaned everything with a power tool and wire wheels and then sprayed clear coat to help prevent future rust on my Ram 1500 in about 2 1/2 hours. br>These look great and appear to work very well. At this point, I'd suggest them. The only drawback is that they are made in China, which surprised me, but they appear to be a high-quality product with nicely radiused slots and holes, a high-quality rotor finish that appears to be rust resistant, and they are significantly heavier than the OEM rotor. After several rainstorms, mud holes, and car washes, the pads look and feel solid and of higher quality than most. br>There is no rust on the rotors after use and several rainstorms, mud holes, and car washes! Oh, and the rain stops were great, as were the mud and creek crossings. br>When I need them again, I'll buy these.
The best upgrade I've made to my lifted truck so far! When I purchased my 2017 Ram 1500 4WD with a 6" Rough Country lift kit, this was exactly what I needed. (Also highly recommended by me). br>With 35" tires, 20" wheels, and the added momentum of the lift kit, the OEM brakes were insufficient for hard braking, especially when traffic heated up. br>I was able to avoid injuring or killing a woman who cut across two lanes of traffic, including mine, just one week after installing them. When she came across my lane, I lost sight of most of her junk box car, which was hidden behind my tall hood, thanks to the guy to my right almost hitting her. I would have plowed into her in my brand new, beautiful truck if I hadn't installed these brakes. For the first time in a long time, it made me feel intelligent;.
This kit has left me completely satisfied. The best price and fastest shipping can be found on Amazon. Installing the front and back rotors and pads took me two evenings. New slide boots are included in the kit, so make sure you use good slide grease. Stability hardware is also included. It is a high-quality kit that has been well-engineered. Before putting the pads on the rotor, I installed them on the caliper slide. On the rotor and hub, use anti-seize. Replacing brake fluid and bleeding the brakes is a good idea. Last but not least, and most importantly - take a look at the procedures that have been broken down- On other cars, I've used powerstop. The pads must be broken in in a specific order, which takes about 10 minutes, before your set can begin.
These aren't to be relied upon! Hopefully, you will be able to see the attached image. We recommend that you look for brakes and rotors elsewhere!.
After watching a few YouTube videos on this kit and deciding that I needed new rear pads at the very least, I decided to pull the trigger. First impressions are WOW! Even when I stood on the brake pedal with all my weight, the OEM brakes couldn't lock up the tires on dry pavement. These things were causing the tires to squeal during the break-in procedure's moderate braking applications! Even during normal lite applications, after the brakes had cooled, the extra stopping power was noticeable. The system has already responded! Time will tell how long they last, but if they do, I'll be installing Power Stop brake kits in all of my vehicles!.
