Product Description

2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK models are compatible. Integrated LVCO (Low-Voltage-Cut-Off) circuit detects battery voltage and cuts off at 11 volts. 0VDC with a 12VDC cut-back. 4VDC, so you'll be able to start your car if you forget to turn off an accessory!
Diodes are used to prevent "field collapse" in sensitive accessories like LED lights.
One touch on the master switch turns on/off the entire unit, while a long touch dims the backlight's brightness.
For connection to the battery, 8 gauge power leads with crimped and soldered terminals are used.
Power module box with a waterproof seal. Simply plug in and play. If you don't want to use studs on the frame, you'll need a grounding bus bar to ground your accessories.

Questions & Answers

Do the backlights turn off when the ignition is turned off or the key is removed, or do they stay on all the time?

The switch unit has two working modes: by default, it is always on, but you can turn it off with the master switch; in the meantime, the low voltage cut off function prevents the battery from being drained if an accessory is left on. br>Select the default mode if you want to use an accessory while the engine is turned off. br>The second mode is the ignition control mode, which requires moving a 3 Amp fuse from F9 to F10 fuse slot, then routing a wire from J3 to your dash light or ACC fuse (a fuse jumper is required), so that when you turn off your car, the switch unit is turned off. You don't need to remove the ignition wire you made because the F10 fuse is out and the circuit is cut off if you need an accessory to work when your car is off. Simply move the 3 Amp fuse back to the F9 fuse slot.

How big do the wire terminals have to be?

All wire terminals are color coordinated, with red for positive and blue for negative, as well as fork type terminals. Where they're simple to install and leave the wiring looking neat and tidy.

Is it possible to install this on a soft-top 2013 JKU?

I believe so because I own a 2009 soft top. It will require the use of a buss grounding bar.

I get those die-hard S-fans, so it's a good product
5/5

Out there, there are some pod people. I didn't think I'd be able to spend $400. I spent 00 on switch pods and am glad I came across these. I was afraid the quality wouldn't be good, but it is! The ONLY issue I have with these, which I can fix, is that the unit that goes under the hood is only held on by two fender bolts, causing it to bounce a little. The unit, on the other hand, is of excellent quality. It's made entirely of metal and has a real circuit board inside that appears to be of excellent quality. I went to their website out of curiosity, and it turns out that if that circuit board fails, which I doubt, you can get a replacement for 35 dollars. 00 is a fantastic number. Don't get me wrong, I understand the cost of R&D on this type of item, and I understand why they can't give them away, but for the price, this unit is a great alternative to spending $400. On a S-, 00 POD (Portable Output Device) system You have a few configuration options, including whether you want this to turn on via your accessory from your ignition or via the touch switch (which, by the way, works very well). Even the dimming that can be achieved by pressing and holding the button is effective. I was blown away by the device's build quality; I'm a self-proclaimed electronics engineer (yes, I went to school for it), but I work in IT, and I have to say that this product was well-thought out and executed. Except for the fact that I'd like to have access to more switch covers, I'm very pleased with my purchase. I bought a few on Amazon hoping to just plug them in, but they're slightly different, so the light doesn't shine through as well, and the switches are a slightly different style, though it's hard to tell apart except for the lighting. I needed two types: a fairly standard "Fog Lights" and a semi-abnormal "Whip Lights," so if anyone knows where I can get some that match the ones in this product, please let me know. My request has yet to be responded to by the seller. br>br>Now for the technical part. br>br>The switch pod simply slides over the footman loop, and while it comes with double-sided tape to secure the back to the overhead pillar, those hard-core offroaders can also use the two screw holes to secure it with small screws. br>br>The wiring is simple. The overhead switch pod is connected to the switch pod by a single loom of wire with a single connector. The rest is simply relay contacts on a very well laid out circuit board; the numbering does go from the top down, so pay attention to the silkscreen on the circuit board. br>br>One side note is that you do not have to use the ground wiring on the circuit board; if you are wiring a device at the back of your vehicle, simply run a single power wire to the positive terminal on the relay box terminal and g to ground. If you have a ground sensitive device, you can connect the ground and power wires together, but the relay only controls the positive wire, and the ground plane is all tied together on the circuit board. br>br>There is a "fuse" you can move and connect to your ignition accessory, or if you only have lights connected to the switch, you could connect it to your dash lights and have it come on with your dash lights. This would be an unusual situation, but it could happen. br>br>Automatic shutoff below a certain voltage is one of the cool features. I have not yet tested this, but I will with lab equipment to ensure that it does shut off and turn back on at the stated voltages, which was another nice touch for this product; I could see this saving people who fall asleep with their camp lights connected to this pod on. br>br>I assumed that 8 switches would be excessive, but it turns out that it was not the case. I'm using every single switch and could use one more, but it works perfectly and I'm very pleased with my purchase. Haters will, of course, continue to hate. Those who are adamantly opposed to the S-word POD guys will always pick on this product, but coming from an electronics background, I can assure you that this device is well-built and will last a long time. br>br>One thing I haven't done yet, but will do this weekend to update this review, is to do some real-world testing to see how much power the switch pod draws with the unit turned on but no switches turned on. So, the unit would be turned on, the lights would be turned on (all LED lights), and the power draw would be measured. My guess is that it will be very low, and that you will not be able to drain your battery even if you leave the switch pod on for days. br>br>So this weekend's to-do list, which I'll write about in next week's review. Test the cut-off voltage. br>br> br>Test the voltage that brings it back to life. br>Test the power draw with the unit turned on but no switches turned on. (As a result, the unit only lit up)br>br>I give it 4 1/2 stars overall. Subtracting 1/4 for the lack of support in the engine bay, which is unlikely to be an issue for most people. It's not bad, but it might bounce if you're doing a lot of offroading. For the lack of switch covers, I deducted a quarter of a star. Yes, there are 15, but what about the ones that aren't included? More switch plates compatible with this unit can be found through custom service or links to more switch plates that are compatible with this unit. br>br>Normally, I'd round down to four stars, but I can't seem to bring myself to do so. To be honest, it's a higher-quality product than I expected, so I'm going to round up before my weekend testing. In addition, if I do not receive a response from the seller before updating my review next week after my testing, even if the testing goes as planned, I will reduce it to 4 stars (rounding down) due to the seller's lack of response regarding additional switch covers.

I recently installed the Apollointech 8 Switch Control System on BubbasGarageTv and am in love with it
5/5

I recently installed the Apollointech 8 Switch Control System on BubbasGarageTv and am in love with it. br>br>With the exception of the tools, this kit contains everything you'll need to complete the installation. In comparison to the 6 Switch System, the installation took about an hour and was much easier. I like that the unit comes with 15 switches even though you only need 8, ensuring that you have the right switch for your needs. In addition, as avid Jeepers, we like to switch things up now and then, and the kit included a rocker switch removal tool to help us do just that. With the touch sensitive master on/off switch, this system now has constant power, so we decided to investigate the low voltage cutoff. By turning on the device and leaving it on all night. At 11 volts, the device did indeed turn off. Leaving enough juice in the battery to get the Jeep started right away. It's great that the unit remembers your brightness preferences as well. Bubba is in hog heaven now that we've installed the J3 mod. Without a doubt, this is a fantastic product with fantastic value.

BUY THIS, BUY THIS, BUY THIS, BUY THIS, Build quality is excellent
5/5

With a high-quality master harness, zip ties, and plate covers included, installation is a breeze. All of this is included. BE CAREFUL, as each circuit is protected by a 30-amp fuse. If you're using a device that requires a fuse that's less than 30 amps. I'll either replace the fuse inside the POD or add a smaller fuse inline, and I'll eventually replace the 100 amp fuse with a 100 amp reset breaker. It's much easier to reset and turn off the power to the POD and work on electrical accessories than it is to unbolt an in-ground cable. Maybe in the middle of nowhere, there's a line fuse holder. Worse, you don't have a working 100 amp backup fuse. But, let's be honest, let's be honest. If a 100 amp fuse or circuit breaker is blown. Either you have a serious issue or you're doing something extremely wrong. There are a few good You Tube videos for installation and mods to convert the unit to ignition-only operation. Bubba's Garage's Voswitch 8 is what you're looking for. Simply skip all of the irrelevant BS and watch the 3 minute video. If you're going to put a POD in your home. Instead of having to replace your 4 or 6 switch unit, you might as well get an 8 switch with plenty of room to grow. Also. 1) memory dimmer and 2) low voltage turn off @ 11 volt threshold are both excellent features. A voltage meter is included in the other units. If you need to manually monitor the voltage output of your alternator or battery to avoid failures, you don't need one. Under 11 volts, this device will turn off. So there's no point in wasting space on a volt meter that looks like a large bright disk. The supplied clamp for the footman loop secures the unit like a rock. I wish all of my Jeep purchases had been of equal quality and value.

It was well worth the money
5/5

I used to have a different switch panel for my Jeep, but it only had six switches and was poorly designed. The voswitch was simple to install, requiring only two bolts on the frame's edge to secure the relay box beneath the hood. The hot and ground cables to the battery were very sturdy, but it took a long time to get to the battery. The switch panel and switches included in the kit were extremely durable and simple to install. It's got a master skill switch, which I really like. So I can just leave certain switches engaged and turn off the entire switch panel, then turn the panel back on and my switches will turn right back on when I get back into my Jeep. It took about an hour to complete the installation. Mainly, I needed to make sure I knew which light was connected to which switch and which switch I wanted to represent that light. I would strongly advise anyone to attend this panel. It's well worth the money to be able to get a pre-made relay box and switch panel with 15 custom switches.
