Questions & Answers
It's best to purchase the entire switch because once you open it, it'll be difficult to close it again because it's spring-loaded.
The failure of one axis (outward, inward, up, or down) is the most common symptom of a bad switch. It could be the switch if you have zero movement on all axes, but it's more likely a fuse or a bad power or ground connection. Check the fuses first, then see if any of the axes move. Replace the switch if you're able to. It was very easy to replace this part in my 1995 C1500 Suburban, and it fit perfectly.
Because it's a General Motors vehicle, it should.

I recently replaced my window regulator motor and switches (due to a lack of knowledge about how to diagnose with a meter). I reassembled everything and went to test the mirrors, only to find that they barely moved. When I dismantled the switch, I discovered that the copper had all corroded. I attempted to clean with Deoxit, but the damage had already been done. The mirrors now move like new after I found this nearly identical switch (new is on the left in my photo, original is on the right). If your mirrors are slow to move, you most likely have a high level of corrosion resistance. I can't believe a door switch for a 25-year-old truck is still available for such a low price.
The original OEM switch lasted 25 years, and it would have lasted even longer if I hadn't gotten into trouble installing a new (faulty) driver side mirror. I was glad that this little switch was so inexpensive and looked exactly like the original, but we'll never know if it would last 25 years.
On my 1997 K1500, the power mirrors began to malfunction. I replaced the power mirror switch, and now I can adjust both sides of the mirrors completely. Great switch that works well and is compatible with the factory harnesses and mounting tabs. The issue with the switch, and the reason for my four-star rating, is that the backlight does not match the original or other switches in the truck. The light bleeds out all over the inside of the door panel because it is so bright. I'll be replacing the switch with a Dormann or Genuine Parts replacement in the near future, but for now I'll leave it in place because I need it.
In my 1995 C1500 Suburban, I used this to replace a broken mirror switch. The new Switch was a perfect match for the old, worn-out one. The plugs and brackets were perfectly matched, and the system worked flawlessly, restoring my full range of mirror adjustments. I'd buy it again if I had the opportunity.
This product worked perfectly in a Chevrolet Blazer in 1996, and I would recommend it.
The most difficult part of the installation was removing the old control's connector clip. I had to replace mine because I couldn't control the side-to-side movement of the mirrors; now they work in all positions. Even at night, it has a green glow!.
This was a perfect fit and performed admirably. It cost a fraction of what it would have cost if purchased from the manufacturer.
