Questions & Answers

I have a 2012 Silverado 1500 LT with power windows, locks, and automatic climate control. Will this work?

On my Silverado, I had to use this one, but it was too long and failed after two years. Dorman 924 would be my choice Cable for releasing the latch on the door 481. I have used the Dorman since a year or so ago, and it works perfectly and is an exact OEM replacement. The item is not in my opinion.

Is there a reason for such a large variation in length among Initially, I removed the one from my 2008 sierra, which is about 18 inches Do you think this one will ?

The cords were available in a variety of lengths. Your OEM cable should measure only 18", so you should purchase the shorter one instead. As a substitute for the shorter cable, the longer cable should not be used.

I just installed it in my 2010 Chevy Silverado (with remote start) and it worked without a hitch
5/5

It almost seems as if the ends were meant to match. There is about a 6 inch difference in length between the original and the new version, but this does not affect the As expected, the door opens and closes without any problem. Installation was very simple, all I needed was a flathead, 10mm, and T30. Prime shipping made it easy to get it and it came in a timely manner. No need to reach outside the window to open the driver's The dealership does not sell this cable separately from the $150 door latch that it sells with it. Take a look at the.

Make sure the length is correct
3/5

You should beware. According to the advertisement, this fits 2007 and later Despite the location of the door handle which changed between 2005 and 2014, there are three lengths of cable in those years. Check the length before you purchase! Those who own my 2008 GMC require the 15" while others have the 31" I take the 31" in some newer models.

as if it were the original
5/5

I really like how it fits and how it works. However, I did notice that the gauge of the replacement cable was a little smaller than the OEM cable. There is no way to tell if the differences are significant until there is more time to analyze them.
