It is likely to work, yes. As with my 2007 Sierra, the 2008 Yukon also has a similar steering wheel design.
This should work as my truck is a 2007 Sierra (new body style) and it works perfectly.
Wire harness Part # 25776048 should be used to replace the wire harness. The steering wheel will be controlled from this because this will connect to the clockspring. Depending on the capacity of the basket, you will either have to trim it or buy another one. This is the way mine came out after trimming.
In my opinion, it doesn't seem to work. I can't be totally sure but I believe it is not possible. I have a 2007 Sierra (new body style) with these controls working, but it seems to me that the steering wheel design on the 2016 model is

I ordered this for adding steering wheel radio controls to my 2019 Chevy Express van. That's not the case. There is a knockoff of it. The part arrived in an unmarked bubble wrap envelope inside a plastic envelope with a box inside. Within the box was the switch in an unmarked Although I am not certain whether or not GM is selling surplus parts outside of retail packaging, I know sometimes they are. In spite of the fact that there were no markings or part numbers on the switch as you would get from a genuine GM part (I compared it with an actual GM switch from the dealer), I stubbornly installed it anyway despite the warning signs. Despite being advertised as working and fitting well, the part did not work as advertised. If you prefer, you can use the blueish-gray instead The backlight on this switch is white, not the greenish backlight that other GM vehicles have. If that does not bother you, then this works well and, if you want things to match and look factory, purchase an actual Chevy part (same price as this generic.
My 08 Sierra has this, but I had to modify the rear of the steering wheel cover a bit for it to fit, but it was very easy with a dremel, there is plenty of information online. I find this feature very useful. I also appreciate the fact that the part is an actual GMC part and not an aftermarket part. Owning GMC original equipment gives me much confidence as far as small upgrades are concerned.
While the installation of the switch is straightforward, cutting it to fit the steering wheel was a challenge, but patience and a Dremel made the process go smoothly. Radios with aftermarket parts do not work with this. For it to work, you will have to purchase a converter. It is possible for aftermarket radios (depending on the year) not to work with a converter at all. There are four reasons for this It is starred. The software does not include any hardware! The switch needs two screws to be mounted to the steering wheel, so you can buy them from Ace or anywhere else. The lack of screws is pretty pathetic in my opinion.
You will likely have to cut a space (simple Dremel will do it) to accommodate the controls so be certain to get the right harness and interface. It is easy to learn how to do this on YouTube.
I have tested it in my truck mod and it works as expected. You can make this awesome if you know what you're.
I connected it to factory-installed cables, which seem to work fine.
I added this factory part to my 2010 GMC Sierra SL Crew Cab because it was brand new at a great price. You just have to make sure you get the appropriate wiring harness to go.
