No, you're dealing with electrical gremlins.
No, a good hour-long step-by-step video on the kit installation can be found on YouTube if you search for it.
Check for a blown fuse or a power outage. Is it trying to move at all? If it tries to move but stops, you'll probably need to get a Track Repair Kit.
According to my understanding, Ford vehicles all have the same sunroof. Except for the metal rods, which were slightly smaller, this one fit pretty well. As a result, the old ones were put to good use. It functions satisfactorily, but I believe it should be aligned with programmed positions. It opens and closes without difficulty, but I must press the button repeatedly until it closes. The auto-repair system has failed.

It's a cinch to use. Our 2010 F150's sunroof track assembly had a few small plastic pieces break. This is an excellent substitute! However, you should be aware of the following: The right way to install a headliner is to take it down completely, which necessitates removing everything that comes into contact with it. br>I watched an hour-long YouTube video and followed the steps exactly as they were shown in the video. It took about 5 hours, and while some of the steps in the video were not required, they were extremely useful! br>If you only have a little time and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is a great option!.
The packages were well-wrapped and sealed, but some of the parts near rotating connectors revealed bubble rust beneath the paint on nearly all of the metal parts. This is very close to a location where moving part tolerance will result in unnecessary friction and, most likely, the need for a new part in the near future. I believe it would do the job based on my broken parts, but in a rainy, humid, and hot climate, it is a question mark that I do not require for my truck. br>br>This may be a personal preference, but after disassembling my headliner and removing the entire moonroof / sunroof frame assembly, I think I'd rather install a better finished part that won't show corrosion or wear. This could be due to the lower replacement cost ($60 - $100) than other suppliers. I've seen $120 for it). I'll order another and keep track of the results.
When my sunroof stopped working, the local Ford dealer gave me a quote of $2,200. Crew cab 2013 Ford F150 FX4. I paid $55 for these and a rivet tool after watching a youtube video on how to fix them. My brother and I worked on my sunroof for 6 hours the Friday after Thanksgiving, and we were able to fix it! The dealer will not replace these; instead, for over $800, they will sell you the entire frame with these installed. These are functional, but they still have the same plastic pieces as the broken ones. Why don't they all be made of steel? Anyway, these work as a temporary solution; hopefully, they won't break too soon.
To keep part of it on the factory track/slider, I had to modify it and use screws. It took a lot of cutting and grinding to get the brackets to "sorta" fit the cross rail, and self tappers were used to keep it in place. Maybe it'll last, but the casting is a little crooked, so the track pieces don't move as smoothly mechanically. If you're going to go through the trouble of repairing the track, suggest a better-known brand. It's well worth the extra $30 to avoid having to repeat the process.
My 2010 F150 Platinum's sunroof track assembly broke because the small plastic pieces in the sunroof track assembly broke. This is an excellent substitute! It took a little while to figure out how to put the pieces together because mine came in pieces. You will need to remove the entire headliner. I took out the front passenger seat to make the process of removal and installation go more smoothly. br>I watched a YouTube video and followed the steps exactly as they were shown. It took about 6 hours, and I only gave it four stars instead of five because this kit needs more grease lubricant. Simply put, there isn't enough. I am extremely pleased with everything.
On my 2014 F150, the rear follower pieces (to which the wire pieces are attached) were not functional. The crosspiece could not be mounted because the screw holes were not in the right place. The same problem has been mentioned by others. I was fortunate in that the old pieces were undamaged, so I was able to reuse them. It also appeared that there was insufficient grease in the tub to adequately lubricate everything.
As a retired auto technician with 16 years of experience, I've replaced, repaired, and rebuilt many sunroof/moonroof and convertible tops. The right-hand moonroof slide/pivot guide (glass attachment point) was bent, and the shade slide component's quick lock attachment point was broken. I chose to reuse the old slide/pivot guide because it was not broken and was in "thankfully" good condition. In addition, the sunshade control brackets were "generic" and did not fit perfectly. I had to make some adjustments to make them fit better. What you pay for is exactly what you get. This item will most likely break sooner rather than later, in my opinion.
Flimsy? Yes. The good news is that I was successful in repairing the moonroof. The bad news is that It takes about 8 hours to replace this track, and you won't know if it'll work until about hour 5, after you've removed the interior of your truck. Because some of the kit's parts didn't fit in the track, I improvised a solution using some of the originals. I'm just thankful that the parts that were actually broken could be replaced with parts from the track kit. The next time, I'd most likely use a different kit.
