There isn't any way to change it. It's great for fixing and putting together bumpers. It locks with the hooks on the bottom when you place it on a folding stand. It's quite effective.

It's barely long enough to hold fully extended wider covers like those found on Tahoes. Also, when you have to flip the cover over to line up clip points, it can get in the way. It does, however, have a place in a body shop. It is beneficial when I am attempting to repair a bumper. Although not as good as a full bumper stand, it is still a good value for money.
I'm not sure why I didn't purchase this earlier. I must have painted 30 or more bumper covers in the last year and had no idea this tool existed; I will never paint another bumper without it.
This thing is fantastic. When I'm building and tearing down bumper ends, it gives me the extra support I need. It was well worth the money, and any body tech would benefit from it.
In the first week of working in an auto body shop, I used this bar three or four times. The most recent time I had to disassemble the front and rear bumpers of a new Mercedes S560 for repair. There are a lot of parts in those bumpers.
It's a great way to keep your hands free while repairing a bumper cover.
Is ideal for working on fenders and long bumpers.
They are extremely useful in keeping the bumper spread out so that painting is simple. The only thing I didn't like about it was that when the push pin is pressed to extend the bar, it may pop out of place, which I won't be able to repair, but I will purchase a replacement.
