As part of my new Jeep, I purchased this product on 10/27/14. proven very useful when using it as a step while washing the vehicle or loading the roof rack, as well as looking good. Most of the payback was experienced, however, recently, during a violent three vehicle rear-end collision on 04/14/15. The vehicle behind me was slowing as it rear ended me so hard that the back wheels lifted off of the ground as the front end plowed into me. I was stopped in traffic, and the vehicle behind me crashed into my head. There was an injury to both drivers, but they were not Upon exiting my car, I discovered that the vehicle behind me was completely destroyed and that the vehicle that started the collision had been rendered irreparable. I purchased a D360PS Dominator as part of my Oct 14 purchase, which was completely destroyed. However, it substantially mitigated the damage to my vehicle, leaving just a minor cut and cave-in on the lower front bumper fascia. Due to the energy dissipated by the Dominator, this accident was averted, as the cargo bed prevented serious damage to the vehicle. There is a little rattle in it. It is possible, but you could always add a small wood shim. (Any hitch won't fit )
It is worth the price, you can bet on it. As a result of the purchase, I have a replacement. The product is a good buy for those who want a little more assistance/protection on their vehicle, especially if they spend a lot of time in traffic where distracted drivers are the norm.

I was very pleased with the speed and ease of installation of the product. In less than ten minutes, you can have it installed. As a result of the bad packaging, the end caps were missing and there were tears in the storage bag.
I installed the shims but the shims are not included in the kit, so it rattles like pennies. It would have been nice if it had worked as it should have. As of now, customer service has not contacted me to replace the shim after I left a message requesting it I did not hear back. Call the day before and don't show up! understand they're busy and I'm Customer 2,001 etc.
It's not my fault, it's the way things are. It's time for me to step away from Go Rhino.
The best course of action is to avoid. The quality of the product was poor. As a result, this is one of the most expensive steps in the workflow, which should be reflected in the finish and quality. There were flashes in the holes so the aluminum plate was not cleaned before it was attached. A child would have hammered those end caps into place with a wooden block if he hammered them in by hand. One thing that finally did it for me was trying to put the pin in the right hole and it was 1/4 hole off. It is pretty much unuseful to add on the smaller step. In addition to being too close to the main, it poses a trip hazard as well as a nuisance. So, I am sending this one back and I am getting a better one for half the price. Go Rhino has really become a Cheap Import China Junk store.
After reading these reviews, including any negative ones prior to making the purchase, I went with the majority of positive ones. It has a nice look to it with a little heft to it. Packaged well and arrived on time for me. The knob I ordered came in three parts. I removed the center disc of the knob and it turned out it stayed in place as I tightened it onto the step by holding the screw bolt in place. Due to this, there was no way to use it. Although I tried duct tape, I am not confident in it, especially since I cannot trust the disc part of the knob (similar to the ends of the top step cylinder) not to fall off A second thing I don't like is that the middle bar of the receiver isn't long enough to hold the knob (even when the lock is on the middle bar). The closest hole in the hitch could not be made since the cylinder tube runs into the bumper of my vehicle. There is a need to raise the bar. It does not reach even an eighth of an inch onto the receiver edge in the middle. In fact, I'd like it to be on the farthest hold if it can be accessed, but if it can't reach the 2nd, it won't be able to reach the 3rd and again my bumper prevents me from using the first one. As someone with a Honda Ridgeline, I find it very unsteady as it doesn't have a knob or bar. I understand the need for this, but as others have noted, the step is usable and the lower step is just a little too close to my size 7 foot but at least it will keep others from backing into you. An inch and a half At the very least, I do hope they replace the knob as they did for the same price since I paid for it, and in case I end up getting rid of it in the future, a new owner might want to purchase.
It's here that I ding it because the hitch pin isn't seated correctly. I already had my own locking pin, so I didn't have to do anything about it. I think this hitch step was very well built. In addition to the spacing between the bar and the bottom step, I am also unhappy with the safety bar. Despite what you see in the pictures, it is actually much shorter than that. In order to fully fit my foot between the bottom step and the bar, the bottom step needs to be higher.
