Questions & Answers

Would you like one to fit a 2012 Ram 1500 4x4 with dual exhausts?

There is a specific model for each truck, so you need to order that one. I cannot fit a 2014 F150 part on my 2015 truck, for instance.

Do both of these steps apply here? Will it fit a 2018 Ford F150 as well?

I'm just going to take one step at a time. The 2015 F150 would not fit my 2018 so I am not sure if the 2016 will. The step I take is really nice to me. Using it to launch my nose and not getting my feet wet is a great idea too.

How can I properly fit this particular step on my 2014 Dodge Ram because it has the dual exhaust "built into the bumper" like many of the new Dodge Rams. ?

My truck is the 2016 Ram Sport with dual exhaust and this exhaust fits It is necessary to remove a small metal bumper bracket for it to fit. Otherwise, it bolts right in with no other modifications needed. It's so great to see

Is this part compatible with the Ram 1500 Big Horn with dual exhaust on 2013 models?

There was no problem mounting on my 2014 Laramie Longhorn with dual exhaust. My favourite is the one I have!

The product is well made, fits perfectly, and is surprisingly simple It does not matter what the instructions are
5/5

In the bottom row, from left to right I found that this product works as described. The truck bed ramp is well-constructed, quick and easy to install, and is a good option for people who cannot vault into their truck bed like they once could. The following functions I installed it on the driver side of my 2014 Ram 1500 Longhorn with dual 5" exhaust. I didn't have to use any of the spacer plates to maintain clearance from the exhaust. The step gives me just enough room to climb up to bed with my left foot if I want to. When I climb up I crack my shins because they stick out of the truck too much, and any less and they stick out too little. Like butter, this folding mechanism opens and closes smoothly. If the vehicle is "slammed" shut, neither the bumper nor the exhaust is struck. I support myself with 250 pounds, and the bar barely flexes. The instructions are Instructions are not 100% clear, nor are drawings (bolts) matched correctly to the parts list and instructions. The bolts in the box do not match up with what is called for. It is quite intuitive to determine where each bolt should go since the installation is very simple. **Installation * * This took me about 30 minutes, but I was going slow since I had concerns about how this would fit on my exhaust. The instructions asked for a ratchet with an extender and sockets of 15mm and 17mm, as well as A ratchet with a 15mm deep socket was useful for mounting the bracket to the bumper frame and for removing the bumper bracket, while a 17mm ratcheting box wrench was used to tighten down the link arm to the mounting bracket after it had been installed. These tools could be set up under the bumper with plenty of room. Specify the following Steel bolts attach the bolts to the link arm, while aluminum link arm and step plate attach to the bolts. Bipolar disorder may develop eventually as a result of this Aluminum parts are corroded to the point of seizing the threads and/or compromising the strength of the threads. In the future, I will probably remove and re-install the step, putting some blue loctite on the two bumper frame bolts (steel on steel) and installing some anti-rust spray on the step rails On all the others, seize the compound. Make sure to also not overdo it Make sure that the steel bolt is torqued all the way into the aluminum parts, otherwise you could strip Currently, we give this 4 stars. Later, if it doesn't fall off on the highway or give out while standing on it, I'll give it five stars. Upgrading to a 5 star rating. My step enabled me to make a *1400 mile trip. The shifting or looseness were not a problem. The gap between my exhaust pipes and the oversized filter is about 1/2". Besides its usefulness while the tailgate is up, the step can be tucked away neatly when not in use as it is just the right size.

However, the quality could be better
4/5

The one reason it didn't score a full 5 stars was because I wasn't completely satisfied with some of its features. If the retractable arm is kicked back into the retracted position, it bounces a lot and hits Observing competitors in action, I have seen them that do not bounce, but instead stick in place in the same way they do when you kick them down. 1. For those with a 2014 and above, you won't need to spend 30 minutes installing this program You could push Tundra up. There is a bumper brace you have to remove, requiring the removal of the bumper plastic cap to gain access to Additionally, there are no pictures to accompany the instructions. 2. *3. *4. A guide that talks about attaching the trailer to the factory hitch ignores that you will need a long breaker bar and a 21mm socket to untie If you mount the Mount Step, you will have a jolly old time trying to torque the 21mm nut back on the Hitch or Frame because it will be covered by 85% of it. My anger was not only hurt, but I got pissed off as well.

A very solidly built product It is easy to set up The following tips will help you with your installation
5/5

There is a lot of precision in the construction of this There is no plastic or composite material in the step, and it is made from metal The surface has a skid-resistant texture. The tailgate can be stepped on easily and the floor is low enough that you won't slip. It was a good set of instructions, but I think the following information may be helpful 1.

If your bolt head is 5/8" deep, you may find that a 5/8" deep socket is better suited when assembling the linkage with the bracket. The split lock washer was added between the head of the bolt and the washer that came with the bolt. As a result, the system will not back out when it vibrates. Blue 242 locktite is not necessary. I still did it, even though it wasn't necessary. Please see
1. On bolt heads, a 9/16" deep socket is better suited for mounting the linkage to the truck frame. 2. *3. *4. There is a little tube of red fluid in the middle of the tube. Install the bolts first and then apply it to the bolt threads. In order to prevent bolts from backing out, it is used. Any bolts that I want to secure with Blue locktite 242 are secured with this product. The bolts are kept from backing out, but the material is soft enough to allow them to be removed later if needed. It also helps prevent corroding of the threads, so you are able to remove the bolt easily if necessary. Typically, a small bottle (50 ml) will last the average home shop for a very long time. The spacers that came with my 2018 RAM 1500 Crew Cab did not fit. Those were necessary if the bumper clearance was less than 3/4" As a precaution, I shifted the step out a bit (3. 5" or so) so as not to get the plastic end of the step too hot from the exhaust pipe. I don't know whether it makes any difference. The chair goes up and down smoothly, usually requiring only a slight nudge from your foot or hand. A smooth, flat rise that does not bounce is what comes up. Since I took my time and was facing a faulty locktite, and had to find split lock washers, it took me almost 40 minutes to install. This should be of some help to you.

It is necessary to remove the bumper bracket, which weakens the The reason I purchased and installed this was that it sounded great and I saw a lot of positive reviews on it
3/5

The shoe ended up being returned to the store after it was taken off. I think the biggest problem is that it requires you to remove a small brace located on the corner of the rear bumper in order to install it. The bumper was not perfectly straight even after I tightened the bumper bolts through the step bracket so well that I saw some flex when I stood on the side of the car I put the bumper back on after removing the step and putting the bracket on. Now, the bumper is In its original form, the brace could be used around or replaced by the device. It is a small piece of metal, but it is there for a reason. It stiffens the corner of the bumper, and as such, I did not want it to be removed. Furthermore, I am a big guy but under the weight rating for the step, and I noticed that it flexes quite a bit whenever I step Although it is probably OK, if it had not been for the brace issue, I would have kept it because I liked the.
