I have a c5 instead of a c6.
It does not come with the reinforcement brackets, but it does come with upgraded mount hardware with a larger washer to help prevent the side sections from pulling through. However, the reinforcement brackets will protect the side spoilers better than the updated hardware. Thank you, Midwest Corvette,br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>b

With that said, nothing stays new forever, and the price of the complete kit was very reasonable, so I decided to buy it for the Vette. Most Vette owners understand that if a part is in need of replacement and the cost is reasonable, it will be replaced without hesitation! The side spoilers also received ABS support brackets. I'm doing everything I can to keep this Corvette looking great and to be proud of it!.
The molded plastic appears to be very close to the original, but the steel support beam isn't quite right, and it doesn't fit the center brackets very well. It's a good deal, but it'll take a lot longer to put together than if the steel was correct.
When I bought my C5, the air dam was missing, which is required for air to reach the radiator. With this kit installed, it was a breeze to replace it, and the car ran noticeably cooler.
To get the new center piece to line up with the mounting holes, I had to bend and shape the metal quite a bit. I didn't notice any signs of damage during the shipping process. It's possible I just got a bad one. It was simple to install once I had it in place, and it looks great.
Jim.
Guts are perfect, and the car runs 15 degrees cooler at highway speeds.
It looks good and fits the car well. The money spent on an upgraded hardware kit is most likely well spent. Because the OEM hardware is small, it's simple to pull the rubber through it. Upgraded hardware can be installed with just a 10mm wrench. To remove the OEM part, you'll need a 7mm drill bit.
My C5 only came with the center section of the Air Dam, not the entire thing. Now that I've finished installing the entire system, the highest temperature I've seen was 180 degrees for a brief moment before returning to 176 degrees.
My dam went missing when I bought a 99 Vett. fit well.
