Yeah. When I installed a 6" lift on my 88 K5, I bought this. A raised steering arm or one of those drop drag links will undoubtedly be required. This isn't going to suffice.
As mentioned by Subastian, a raised steering arm with a lift of 6" or more is required.
Yes it is
Although there isn't enough drop for a 12" lift, I couldn't find one that was any longer. This, combined with the raised steering block, came close to flattening the steering arm, but it wasn't quite enough.

This is exactly what I needed to correct the bump steer on my 4" lifted K5 Blazer with 35" tires. DO NOT RUN THE RAISED STEERING ARM WITH A 4" LIFT! Instead, go for this. Bump steer is caused by the raised steering arm. The drag link is at the same angle as the lift leaf springs with this Dropped pitman arm, allowing them to move together.
My factory pitman arm, on the other hand, had stripped and left me stranded. I discovered the hard way that there are no replacements available locally and had to turn to Amazon for help. My truck has a fairly substantial lift and 40x18x15 tires, and it has never steered well since I purchased it. As soon as I installed it, it greatly improved steering response, and I would recommend the steering arm that comes with it if your truck has a decent lift. Rather than investing in a one-piece steering assembly, I would buy this product over and over again. It enables me to replace local parts as they wear out while still maintaining the correct steering angle. This purchase has made me very happy, and even with overnight shipping, it is about $20 cheaper here.
When I took this part out of the box and noticed that the mounting hole was only splined over a portion of the part, I was perplexed. I was also disappointed that it required a nut and bolt to secure it in place, which the part did not include.
It already had a raised steering arm, dual steering stabilizers, and all new suspension and steering components, but that wasn't enough to stop the bump steer. The steering link remained at an acute angle. Although the addition of this dropped pitman arm did not completely level the steering, it did eliminate the bump steer. I was even able to get rid of the stabilizers that were rubbing against the diff cover and restricting steering travel. The truck now drives without any steering problems, at least on the road.
This is what I used on my 1987 K5 Blazer with a 2 inch Rough Country lift. The truck used to wander and have some bump and brake steer before this drop pitman arm was installed. The drag link is returned to its original factory angle with the drop pitman arm, which eliminates those issues. I'm very pleased with the outcome.
Very sturdy, great product that fit my 1991 GMC V3500 perfectly.
I have an 8-inch leaf spring lift and high steer off my knuckle, and this helped a lot with my steering.
Exactly what I needed for a 4" lift on my 1986 GMC K2500.
