Questions & Answers
I'm not sure, but it's somewhere between 1/2" and 5/8" in diameter.
Any 1/8 NPT temperature sensor will work with this.
The sensor must be threaded into the transmission's main line pressure port. On the driver's side, you should be able to Google the address.

When you learn how to install it, it's a fantastic meter. I spent some time with Auto Meter (who were fantastic in terms of customer service) and they made some recommendations that were contrary to the instructions. Just keep in mind that if you install in-home entertainment, you'll have to pay for it. You'll need to add an extra ground to whatever brass T you put the sender in if it's not in the pan and not on the line. That isn't something that is mentioned in the instructions. You might have an issue after applying teflon tape to the threads (which Auto Meter advised against, but it leaks like crazy when you don't), but if you use a meter to check for connectivity, you should be fine. The meter worked perfectly after I grounded the T. Many people have experienced this issue, but the company has yet to provide a solution in their FAQ. br>br>Apart from that, it's fantastic.
The gauge is precise and functions properly. It would probably be fine if it were mounted on the dashboard, but I put it in the console and it's pretty dim at night. The numbers do not light up because the light shines around the edges of the gauge face rather than through it. In retrospect, I should have spent a few dollars more and purchased a more modern gauge with LED lighting.
The day before the cross-country trip, the system was installed. I put in an hour's worth of effort. The wiring is in good shape, but it isn't registering at this time. I went out of my way to get a new sending unit, which cost an additional $20 and is still not working. Avoid.
After 319K miles, I had the tranny rebuilt and a temperature gauge installed. It was done by the tranny shop.
Excellent meter.
Everything was exactly as it was described. It's fantastic A.
It's up and running, and everything seems to be working fine. Instructions on what is required to work in your application are a little hazy.
It's simple to set up and does a great job of displaying the temperature of the transmission.
