Questions & Answers

Isn't this a sending unit for electrical signals?

The oil gauge is connected to a plastic tube that leads out of the engine.

Is it possible to use the engine from a semi truck?

There's no reason why it shouldn't be done. Because it's a mechanical gauge, you'll need a supply of oil from somewhere in the system, such as a fitting or plug. Because my engine can reach 70 psi, I am very pleased with this gauge.

For the line, what size thread is on the back of the gauge?

If my memory serves me correctly, it comes with an adapter for use with a 4an connection. The gage has a 1/8-inch NPT thread. What is the purpose of your inquiry? If you use a standard premade oil pressure line, the threads will either be NPT or AN. I bought a stainless steel braided line with an AN type connection from JEGS, and it fit perfectly with the gauge's adapter.

Is the tubing a full ten feet in length?

Yes, that is correct. I, on the other hand, used stainless braided hose and mounted it beneath the hood.

Autometer is one of my favorite brands, and I've been using their products for more than 20 years. I replaced the 194 bulb with an LED equivalent because this gauge is very well built. I recently discovered that the gauge is 10 PSI out of whack. I checked for any kinks or loose connections with the copper tubing kit. However, it is 10 PSI off when compared to my Snap On mechanical oil pressure gauge and an old OTC gauge. I've already made contact with Autometer. I'm still waiting to hear back from you. Apart from that, the gauge is still in excellent condition. Metal bezel and glass face on the back. I'd buy it again if they replaced the broken gauge, which I'm sure they will.

Fix your website; if it works, I'd give it a higher rating, but I don't know. Well, it didn't come with the parts that were supposed to be included. There is no way to connect tubing to the gauge because there is no adapter. When I went to their website to ask a question, I got an error 404 for both questions and instructions that could be downloaded. great. I understand that mistakes are unavoidable. It's inexcusable that you can't get in touch with the company.

Great gauge, correct size, good appearance, and accuracy

I bought this oil pressure gauge to double-check my car's oil pressure after the cluster gauge indicated that it was low. At idle, this gauge, which is connected to the engine via a small hose, reads about 10 pounds of pressure, while my cluster gauge reads near zero. This gauge displays the same pressure as my cluster gauge at operating speeds, indicating that my original sensor or cluster gauge is insufficiently sensitive at idle. It's well-made, with all of the necessary tubing, connectors, and wiring included. The light bulb is protected by a red or green cap. I used the green cap, which has a nice soft green background and provides just the right amount of illumination. It is simple to set up the product. The difficulty of installation will be determined by your vehicle.

This is a wonderful gauge

This is an excellent indicator from a reputable firm. It includes everything you'll need to set up an American-style mechanical pressure gauge. If you need metric measurements, keep in mind that you'll have to go to a brass cabinet. In my experience, it works flawlessly, as do all auto meter gauges. It's a no-brainer to use this over a cheap parts store gauge at this price, especially for something as important as oil pressure.

The fit is excellent

The meter is attractive, fits well, and contains all of the components that I require. This was installed in a 1994 Mustang, and the original dash unit with a tee was kept. There was no one else who could do the job, and there wasn't much room under the Mustang. i'm happy.

Junk made of plastic

This gauge is made of flimsy plastic and is of poor quality. AutoMeter, I believe, was not involved in its creation. Most likely, it's just a re-run. Chinese import with a label.

This is a mechanical gauge, so you'll need to connect the engine to the dash with an oil line. It's enough to be yasy. It's precise, simple to read, and simple to set up. The backlighting is extremely effective.
